Do you have any idea what the trial was about? Pecker paid McDougal out of his pocket and Trump was going to reimburse him. Pecker's attorney said that was illegal, so Pecker said do not reimburse me, I did it as a favor to your campaign. That was the unreported campaign contribution. Trump told Cohen to pay Stormy and he would reimburse him plus some extra to take care of taxes. That was the false entry as legal expenses since Cohen performed no legal services for the money. Two different people making payments to two different women. One was a gift, the other got reimbursed. Even Pecker's lawyer knew Trump was up to illegal shit and told his client to back away from it. I have done enough accounting work to know hooker payoffs are not legal expenses or even legitimate business expenses. It was a hush money settlement, not actually buying the hooker for her sex services. The act in question was Cohen, Trump’s attorney, negotiating a legally binding contract between Daniels and the Enquirer for the Enquirer to buy her story in exchange for her signing a non-disclosure agreement. Trump paid Cohen a sum nearly 4 times the amount of the settlement. So for your stance to be consistent, you would have to admit that had he called the expenditure “legal fees plus hush money to porn star,” there would be no business records crime, correct? None of the $420,000 was for legitimate legal services. Maybe the bonus could be. Cohen paid Stormy $130,000. He added $50,000 for reimbursement to Red Finch (of which he only gave part of to Red Finch) for some poll . He submitted a bill for $185,000. Trump doubled it to $360,000 to cover the income taxes Cohen would owe on the reimbursements and added $60,000 as a year end bonus. That equaled the $420,000 Cohen was paid. There were no legal services involved nor was Cohen paid for performing any, other than maybe the $60,000 bonus. Trump and his lawyers claimed that Trump and Cohen had a verbal retainer agreement for $35,000 a month in legal services and Trump knew nothing about the Stormy payment and did not authorize it or the payment from AMI to McDougal. The $130,000 to Stormy should have came from Trump's personal funds and not been recorded as legal expense or any other tax deductible expense. He should have paid Red Finch and called it a campaign expense. He should have never gave Cohen $185,000 to cover income taxes if this was legit and above the law. The only legitimate business expense was the $60,000 bonus. Trump wanted to stiff Red Finch because he didn't like the poll, The CEO of Red Finch was a personal friend of Cohens and Cohen knew Trump would pay him without questioning it, due to the illegal shit they were doing. So Cohen included it in the Stormy bills to get Red Finch paid. That was Trump's agreement with Cohen, according to Cohen's testimony and former Trump employee McConney. Trump CEO Allen Weisselberg even wrote down the breakdown of how they arrived at the $420,000 and that was presented as evidence. How you can claim that pile of illegal activity by Trump was "legal expense" I will never understand. It was called that for the same reason Trump did not pay Stormy or McDougal directly. He did not want to be connected to the two women so he could claim he did not know them, never had sex with them, and knew nothing about these payments other people made on his behalf. He was the innocent little lamb in the whole affair. He was hiding the payments as false legal expenses. Trump even claimed he just signed the checks and did not know what they were for. A man known to question every penny spent signed $35,000 checks to Cohen without questioning what work Cohen was doing for such a large sum of money. You can't believe that.

You just hit the nail on the head More like the shit hitting the fan. How many post election lawsuits were tossed by Republican judges? Not a single court in the entire country saw a Single Piece of Evidence! None ... Zip ... Zero ! Over 50 cases tossed out! Fox forked over $700 million for lying about it! If they had a case, they would have presented it ... but they didn't have jack shit! Neither does any other election denier ... pushing a modern version of "Flat Earth". Political machine. Swamp. Whatever you want to call it.

After watching this trial and its outcome, how does anyone conclude that the 2020 election wasnt also rigged? And using lawfare for 2024.

I just learned from Cad that having an NDA drafted is either cost free or that any cost associated with it isn’t a legal cost.
GMAFB. Cohen is a tainted witness. His word on the stand is, to put it as BT would, worth mierda.

His word on the stand is, to put it as BT would, worth mierda. Cohen never asked for costs unless it was his bonus money. The handwritten evidence from Trump's CEO spelled out what the $420,000 was for. It wasn't just Cohen's testimony. Other witnesses and evidence supported his story.

He was already serving a 5 month jail sentence for perjury in the other trial. The man is 76, he don't want to die in jail.

OR ELSE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE STAND! What kind of a dumbass hater are you? You just make up shit everyday.

Weisselberg ain't testifying to anything since it might open him up to various state and federal charges if he told the truth and more jail time for perjury if he lies. He would plead the 5th. He was the CFO who was helping Trump fake the numbers. He still has the IRS auditing the books wanting their $100 million. You think he is going to take the stand and tell the truth?
