I'd get Fenix (the first one) unless you don't like rechargeable. I would check and if I could get an extra battery.

File this in the what it's worth dept.. While the other beam patterns/strobe/hi/lo are useful I would not want to have to scroll through them with button presses on tailcap.
So that alone would cause me to look at the Fenix The strobe and brightness can be accessed by a separate button. If that is not a concern disregard.
For a general purpose BAL (bright ass light) either one would work.
Dammit, you know you just put another item in my wonder woman wish list..

I searched for the rechargeable 100,000 lumen one I bought in 2021 and Amazon no longer sells it. I love the thing. Bright as hell and recharges in a couple of hours. You can go narrow or wide, high or low beam and a flashing light I have never used. It was $39 at the time

I’ve owned Fenix AA models for years. Great lights…. until the on/off switch shorts out. Happens on every one I’ve owned. Lifetime warranties and they replace without issues. But my last one died for that reason and I haven’t replaced it. Well, one Fenix resides at the bottom of the river (see the gator hunt from hell story). Pretty sure I replaced the switch on it at least once before it went under.

Tac lights are like rotomolded coolers. You can pay for the Yeti or get one almost as good for half the price.

I have a surefire I got for a present and it’s awesomely bright. Also have a new mag-light. The key for the better lights is taking the batteries out when you’re putting them up for a while. I have a rechargeable I keep by the bed for emergencies. I think all of those posted will do the job. I lean toward gittum and conchy’s ideals.

I have an old time leather sap filled with lead pellets for non fire arm self defense. Flashlights are for light.

I buy the three packs of flashlights costco sells. Also get the little ones from harbor freight.
I hate internal rechargeable batteries. Have 4 cameras i cant replace batteries on and they no longer sell AA versions.
Did get my dad a couple super duper lights cause he spends time in woods and they’ll show a chipmunk at 200 yards but have those big batteries like AA. At least he has 3 sets of batteries if the power fails.

I have an old time leather sap filled with lead pellets for non fire arm self defense. Flashlights are for light. You ever get a full force LED light in the face at night. Do that and then you can wind up and really smack him w the sap. He’ll never know what is coming and will be blind for 5-10 seconds or more.

www.exposure-use.com/Brands/Exposure-LightsI use a Diablo on my bike helmet....and for tons of other things. First one lasted 13 years, sent it back to England for 25$ and they sent me a fancier refurbished new model for less than half price.
