I still like my old 4 D cell battery Maglight. Makes for a great weapon also. 😉 That's kind of what started me on my new flashlight journey. Have had my old Dcell mag light for decades and it has sat in the bottom of my tool box. Unused because these little cheap 9bulb led's have been so cheap and handy. Little better than a year ago I dug out my old mag light and it was dead. I needed a little more light then those cheap led's were putting out. Next day on the way to work stopped at walmart and grabbed an Ozark Trail 420 3AAA zoomable flashlights. little thing is badass. Now we have 3 of those, an Nitecore tini2 Ti, Olight baton3 and and a few RovyVon Aurora keychain/pocket lights. The mag light is nothing more than a weapon now. Now I want something 3000+ lumens and easy enough to operate.

Remember lumens are not everything, you can have a cheap Chinese light with high lumens and crappy lens and light pattern. You get what you pay for.

On the cheap China made side Wurkkos and Sofirn seem to have good reports. With Wurkkos in the lead, but their user interface is usually more complicated or more useful depending on attitude.

As a hunter, the amount of kelvins a light puts out was as important as the amount of lumens. The higher kelvin count give the light beam a more yellowish look similar to incandescent flashlights. For me the yellowish beam shows blood better than Brite white LED's. I ended up with a Nitecore head lamp that also had a pocket clip.

From the google machine "Wurkkos does not produce their lights themselves; they outsource their production to Sofirn, who make flashlights for different brands."

Fenix makes quality stuff (even if it's made in China). We own a half dozen of their flaslights, headlights, and camplights. All have served us superbly.
