Board members were elected by the citizens in that district to manage schools. Parents are not in charge. Please rethink the stupidity of your post. Actually....parents ARE in charge. The purchase you are talking about was part of the $2 trillion Covid package and intended to help the oil companies due to the crashed market prices. It was dropped by congress since the amount being spent was astronomical already. A few other bail out plans were scrapped in the package as well. it was an additional $2.3 billion that would have been added to the debt and only added 77 million barrels to the reserve. Considering we were in the Covid crisis, tax revenue was down due to closing of the economy and it was your grandkids money being spent, was it really a good idea at the time? Lastly, this was in 2020 and Republicans controlled the senate, Dems the house. Also, if it was important to fill the reserve, Republicans had control of congress for 2017 and 2018, they could have done it then. The reality is, it wasn't about filling the SPR, but helping the oil companies sell product. Since you want me to be fair. |

I agree. None of the big oil companies want to invest in new refineries due to the political atmosphere. We can produce a lot of oil, but if we can’t refined it domestically, then it kind of defeats the purpose.
