Not a typo by you. A typo by the person who entered the data you copied. Could also be accurate. I don’t know. But from the comments of those more familiar with the area than I am (which I’m not at all) it sounds like a mistake in data entry is probable.

Mystery solved. Just saw on Facebook from someone who lived close by that lake Monroe WMA was almost completely flooded last year. By his estimate under 4 feet of water in most places. Only about 200 of the 4000 acres weren't underwater and they were right by the gate. It was a slaughter apparently. That wma is normally pretty bad, the guy said he stopped hunting it years ago.

Browns Farm was 3000 acres and it gave up 100 or so bucks every year. Of course the surrounding ag helped but none the less... now it's a fucking sta with ultra limited access. 3 years ago i took some folks gator hunting who had tags for area 2 , hunted the canal that seperates old browns farm from area 2 , south side , i spent more time shining over in browns looking at deer including 2 really nice bucks then i did looking for gators. deer die of old age there now or get poached. got a little speck hole i hit in the winter time and see deer often. another piece of public land that could have archery hunts, say 4 hunts 5 hunters per hunt but nope. stay out

I think most if not all Quota hunt WMAs could stand way more than 9 days of gun hunting.

I finally gave up on ever seeing the results from the mandatory check in turkey numbers being published on the FWC web site and sent in a FOIA request. Let you know how it goes. I asked only for the WMA reported kill numbers on any and all WMAs that allowed turkey hunting even though they will have county by county totals which I agree will be highly under reported by those hunting private land. I'm betting some areas will be a surprise and hope it shows why actual physical tags should be required for ALL even the no account exempts.

You used to be able to get this info off the license site before it changed a couple of years ago. You could search by DMU, region, WMA, date range.

No longer. No response to my FOIA. Hunters on other forums also being stonewalled. Turkey numbers must be miserable.

No longer. No response to my FOIA. Hunters on other forums also being stonewalled. Turkey numbers must be miserable. all it takes is 5 or 6 guys to complain that they didnt see any turkeys the 2 days they hunted all season and fwc will roll with that,, more restrictions, less opportunities. free state of florida,,,,, not when it comes to public land hunting or fishing.
