I’m thinking this may be an average year here in Central. Squirrels are already hitting them here in the yard. Looking at the tree limbs, I’m seeing good sized ones but not a lot of them. Did notice the low bush variety coming on pretty thick in the pine woods.

I haven’t seen much in the woods here in central. The squirrels are still going hard on pine nuts though. I went out last wed. To move some trail cams the place was littered with chewed up pine cones. Plenty of acorns in town though it seems. Maybe I’m trancing through last years crop 😅

Noted a few swamp chestnut acorns under one tree. As they tend to be on a 3 year cycle it may be that this one is kind of lost a little.....or I've lost track of years.......  |
