If convicted what should happen to him? Some are saying supermax with a small detail of secret service people.
IF convicted he still has secret service protection. There is only one prison that can keep him safe. Along with a small detail for the hour or so a day he might be out of his cell.

As much as I despise the guy, putting him in jail would be a bad look. But I do want to see him squirm during all 4 trials.
Leaders of other first world countries cannot believe he is not in jail.....
Just the January 6th crap he pulled would not have flown in the UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, etc....
He would have been jailed and tried quickly.... The documents thing would have not have flown either... Just this week, he publicly threatened the Special Prosecutor. AND his family...
I am not saying we should be like other first world countries whose governments are based on Democracy.
We SHOULD be BETTER... We are the great experiment.... A Republic of Member States that came together to form a Union. A single country of member states with rights provided and guaranteed both on the state and federal level.
And the experiment worked. for almost 250 years.... We have grown to be the only economic and military super power in the world.
WW1 and WW2 were won because of us.... We won the Cold War.... We became the country all other countries looked to for leadership and many times protection. At one time being closely allied with the US saved many countries from being invaded by their ill willed neighbors.
All that ended when the orange lunatic refused to admit defeat and have a peaceful transfer of power that has always been done until him... Instead He made false claims, ranted, tweeted, invited, nearly begged, fringe radicals to DC... Gave a speech full of lies, got them all worked up then ordered them to go take over the Capital..... Up until then, the only time our Capital had been breached was during the war of 1812. When England was trying to take the United State back.
That bullshit made us look like a mickey mouse third world country that cannot get its shit together....
And what do we do about that insurrection? Nothing... We let him go... We have allowed him to keep running his mouth. We have allowed him to keep his fringe radical base, Some of them hold public office, stirred up... We have allowed him to brow beat the entire Republican party. He attacks anyone that speaks against him...
Letting him walk is the bad look...

Let's say, for discussion purposes, that the above statement is correct.

Here's the big difference: When the National Archives ask for a documents return, repeatedly, 100% of high rank judges, attorneys, and politicians COMPLY PROMPTLY.
They don't dick around, they don't lie about it, they don't hide them, and they don't require subpoenas!
They don't drag their attorney's into doing their dirty work!
If the lines weren't crystal clear, if there was any doubt about what was going on, a judge would not have REMOVED attorney/client privilege.
That is a rare occurrence, and it is a step that is never taken lightly.
