You obviously don’t listen to right wing talk radio. No...... NPR is on in the truck most of the time. Can't tolerate Hanity and the like...... Though, NPR today is not the NPR we grew up...... And, in reality, most of the time I've a audiobook going. No. Not into fiction. Worked through "Neptune's Inferno" over the last few days, a work that reinforced the need I see for leaders that will not cause our young to be sent forth to do violence on the other man's young. Though........the guilt of the other man is not to be assumed as zero. Leaders are dangerous to the lives of the rest of us. Whether Trump is less so than Kamala is a hard question to answer. She being a empty suite may mean that she'll listen more to the professional diplomats. Yet.....the professional diplomats have a terrible record.....so....maybe the other guy? These are the truly hard questions.......and I just do not know how to come to grips with them. |

I was born a white male. I could go into the stores in town that had "White Only" signs on the door. I could go to the carnival in town on any day. Except the day they sat aside for the "Negroes" who were not allowed in on any other day except that one. I could borrow money from a bank without a co-signer. I could take my clothes to the laundry that only took white customers. I could go to the town swimming pool. and on and on  |

We were a family of 8 back in the 60's and my Dad would bring home 50 bucks a week from his job. Many times we had 1 chicken to feed 8 people along with a side of potatoes or corn. My piece was the lower part of the back. Sometimes we didn't have that much.
I remember when the commodities food program came along where once a month you could get an allotment of food. That was some good stuff, all high quality and nutritious.
