First off.....do forgive me for the picture.....but it's the only one we took. That's my buddy Peter T. ( You can look him up. ) with one of our many bait stealers. Pete guides out of St. Augustine, and also on the St. Johns and Rodman. When we go, it's usually to birddog new places for him to take clients so our results are not quite what you might expect when there is near on 100 years of combined experience.
Anyway...........dozens of mangroves, a few lanes, 4 flounder and a pile of odd fish came into the boat. Carried home 9 mangroves, 3 lanes and one flounder. Crabtraps out on our dock here at the house are already baited with scraps from some of the mangroves I cleaned for Peat before bringing the rest home.
St. Augustine Inlet is so different than it was 50 years ago......not so much the water but the number of people. More folks on almost any weekday now than there was on a busy holiday such as the 4th of July back when we were kids. Makes it annoying at times.
Fortunately the vast majority of what's out there on the water are "boaters" and not fishermen. Though, it does seem that the biggest percentage of the "boaters" are ignorant of how to be polite on the water. I'll stop there with that............
