I’m resurrecting a 2006 Sailfish 218.(Very similar boat to yours)
It has a 200 hpdi(last of the 2strokes),less than 300 hours.
I want to repower and considering a F150? I see you are running the F200.
Any thoughts? Talk some sense into me.

I'd go with the F150. The F200 is a very weak 200. My boat previously had a 2007 V6 F200 with good performance. When I repowered, I replaced it with the newer version of the F200 which is an inline 4 like the F150. Naturally, to save a bit, I kept my previous controls, digital gauges, and two Reliance stainless steel props. The I4 F200 lacks the power to turn those same props to the top end RPM range, and I had to drop down to a lower pitch. I doubt thee actual horsepower is 200, more likely closer to 180 or thereabouts. Not much more than the F150 and doesn't justify the price increase for what is basically the same motor. |

Been doing a bunch of research, and you just reaffirmed what I have been concluding. Thank you!
This is going to be a looong process for me to get this boat back in shape. I enjoy it though, plus the boat has lots of history for my family.
I’ll have more questions for sure.

The trip went fine, got several nice Dolphin in the 25 to 35 pound range.
More questions are fine. I've restored/rebuilt several older boats in that size range. An Aquasport 22-2, a Pursuit 2100, a Pursuit 2150, and a 21' Chris Craft Scorpion, plus several smaller boats. It's a hobby that keeps me broke. LOL
