What's the one species you've never caught but want to more than any other? For me it's a decent tiger shark. I've fished for them on many occasions but always seem to catch damned bull sharks. 10k seems full of things! I need to put more effort into trying for tigers. What do you all want to catch?

Rooster Fish, things just look so damn cool. They do look awesome. I've watched a few Youtube videos with guys targeting these. They're on the bucket list! Costa Rica looks like the place to try for them.

when I went fishing on long range boats out of San Diego we jigged up a lot of squid for live bait. You need to wear your oilers because they squirt ink all over when you catch them. Having said that it was a lot of fun.

Pez gallo! THEY FIGHT, caught some in Baja sur. How do you target them Pete, shows I’ve seen they were trolling in Costa Rica. I was trolling in a kayak just past the surf along a little uninhabited island in the Sea of Cortez. It was a small one but it was very cool. They are basically jacks I think. I was throwing a diving plug.
My wife and I did a eco kayak tour with some friends. We kayaked a bunch and had an old Florida converted shrimp boat as a base, with two 115 horse tiller steer pangas. We camped on the beach of remote islands. We discovered the Pescapo (home base boat) had some old tackle and they broke it out for us. We trolled and caught dorado and the cook made dinner two nights using it.
One of the best trips I have ever been on.

I've been very fortunate to have caught all of the above, even several 7ft+ squid, and a few pilot whales, and a grampas. Even hand fed blue sharks to wild orcas on the Grand Banks and swam with minke whales in the Windward Passage.
I have no more "wants" in the fishing arena except I wish I could find a place where I can catch specks (crappie to you yankees) at will, year round.... A deep drop trip with Conchy for tile fish, with my son might be cool too.

I used to have a bunch of old jigs in tackle box somewhere. It's pretty cool to see them come up in the lights and attack a jig. They're voracious and I would hate to die floating around after a ship abandonment by a mass of squid feeding on me one bite at a time. If you've ever seen what they can do to a 400lb swordfish you'd understand.

I am 0-13 on billing a Sailfish. Crazy the stuff that has gone wrong, even in Costa Rica. I've had a number of boat side releases. Hook pulls, line breaks, etc. but never got to bill one...........YET

I wouldn't mind teaming up with Conchy and letting him put my son on a few tile fish, and some other delicious deep water denizens.
That would be cool to watch as a spectator on my part.

I hope I can that make it happen in the future. Everything is closed right now and we have some issues with the diesel tanks but I would be honored to fish with you.
