Was looking at some of the harvest reports and was surprised to see 7 bucks down so far in the deep lake area of the cypress just a week or so into the season. The past couple years there has only been 5 or so killed all season. Deer numbers in the Glades still a glimmer of what they were but they still exist out there. Corbett not off to a bad start either…

I've hunted it a time or two... Went in from upper Birdon Road. Old Camp there and a pretty good bridge. Easy place to hunt except for the walking part if the water is high. No real pressure cause there's like 50 deer in there. Some good ones too. It's a massive Parie and a long Strand..called Deep Lake for a reason. I one time drug a canoe in from the West side off 29 and fished the Deep Lake. It's about 35 ft. deep..had to check while I was there. Cool place in a Dry year when it's lined with Gators and Birds. If you can make it across the small canal on Upper Birdon just hug the swamp wall and look out into the open. you can see for miles..but no telling where the Bucks are gonna head in to the shade and bed....that's on you to figure out.
