I had a blackstone and seasoned the dog shit out of it and it still is constantly rusting.
Every time I cook on the thing I have to season it and get rid of the rust. Finally gave up because it was too much maintenance and went back to my Weber Kettle which is zero maintenance.

Bought the biggest Blackstone grill with all the accessories two + years ago just before Dad passed. He loved the “event” of the cookout. Have never used it as I lost interest in it when he went. Probably still good. Haven’t uncovered it in over a year. Going to try some steaks on it asap. Anyone have a blackstone? You're probably going to have to start from scratch insofar as seasoning goes. Scrub well to remove debris and reseason. I'd go back to the original seasoning instructions in your instructions.

Most restaurants I was in had a flat top. You'd be surprised what you can cook with it. I was shocked when I ate (1st & last time) at a Outback Steakhouse that my steak was cooked on a flat top (manager confirmed it). Between the Weber & this i'm set. My smoker died some time ago but I don't smoke like I used to.

Our Blackstone is a pain to maintain as anything out doors is affected by the humidity. Last time I used sand to help remove the rust. Once this one’s gone, I probably won’t have another one. My set up was similar to cyclist as I had a homemade grill for cooking over hardwood, a gas grill and a smoker. The smoker finally bit the “rust”. I think the gas grill is right behind it.
We often cook our steaks in a cast iron skillet on top of the stove.

I’m glad that I just bought a small griddle for my camp chef one burner stove. After the cooking I can clean it and store it in my utility room. I could imagine the maintenance if I left it outdoors 24/7.

I have a tabletop model, used it a few times. I find myself using the griddle plates on the weber gas grill the same or more. Nothing wrong with either, more of a choice and space decision.
The Blackstone is a bigger cooking area, the weber griddle plates are smaller and not as nice when doing full griddle runs. I've done fish, quesidiallas, cheese steak, Reubens, breakfast foods and pancakes,
But that said, having a griddle to use is a nice option.

Mine is on the screen porch and still rusts up. I think Conchy has the right idea for griddling.

I only cook for two or three on a daily basis and this small griddle is just the right size for me. I can remove it and store it in a better environment than leaving it outside.

I have the 4 burner Blackstone. It is a little bit of work to maintain. The trick is to oil or re-season after each use. I don't use it as much as I should but when its fried rice and hibachi night.... nothing beats it.

Use avacado oil on your blackstone and keep it out of the rain. It won't rust

I believe they made an all stainless griddle but discontinued it. There are after market stainless griddle tops available.... but they ain't cheap.
