I have no predictions. If this was a murder, day and a half deliberations would be considered “long” and possibly bode well for the defense. But the trial itself would have been over in 2-3 days. It blows my mind how these highly publicized trials last for weeks or months. So I don’t know if 1 1/2 days is considered “fast” given the length of the trial. Fast verdicts usually favor the prosecution.

The jury has reached a verdictI don't know if we will hear it today or in the morning. The judge announced the jury has reached a verdict. 30-something counts decided in, what, two days?
Doesn't smell good to me if I'm on the defense, either.
Time will tell.

If the verdict is read today, and it probably will be, the next several minutes in waiting will be absolutely miserable for the attorneys in both sides. Pressure like they’re probably never felt. Assuming they haven’t been tipped off in advance.

Like going in for a body scan and waiting for the results. Or doing a big sales presentation and waiting on a customer decision.
I can only imagine.

The jury is supposed to announce their verdict shortly. They are filling out the form currently.
I think it is a guilty verdict on some counts. I think it was a long shot for a not guilty. I had figured a mistrial would be announced on Monday with no decision. The jury spent the morning rehearing some testimony and the judge's instructions. So it was only 4 or 5 hours after that the decision was reached.

I think all the counts rise or fall together. Or they split the baby in a compromise verdict and convict on some and not others. I don’t think time is needed to plow through every count no matter which way they come out.

My sense is it will be a split decision.
But really we're just guessing.

Fast verdicts equal guilty here. Hung jury would be instructed to reconvene and try to reach a decision.

Did not expect a guilty verdict on all of the charges. The first time a past President has been convicted of felonies.

So, you guys still going to vote for a convicted felon (x34)?

I want to see how it affects polling over the weekend and next week. Will also be interesting to see what Trump says after this. His core supporters will not care, but those who were voting against Biden may or may not change their vote. Pre verdict polling showed up to 20% would change their mind on supporting him.

Sentencing will be quicker than I thought. The judge has set the sentencing hearing for July 11th.

When people start seeing what a kangaroo court this was and all the malfeasance of the judge and prosecutors they will change their vote. We are now no different than any other third world banana republic.

If you do then you know how ironic this is Maybe you are too blind to see what this is really all about? This isn’t anything to do with Donald Trump. The NYC and the state of New York justice system just got a huge black eye. And it has probably started a dangerous precedent. It’s going to be interesting when our government/ state department starts chastising other governments for unfair elections and political shenanigans.

He paid the hooker(S) to keep quiet thereby hoping to maintain his image. He then charged off his personal expense as a business expense which is clearly fraud. To go even further it was a blatant effort to further his political image. What don't his followers understand about fraud and political malfeasance. The difference between what Trump's situation and Nixon's is that the Republicans back in Nixon's situation had some measure of ethics and morals. Today's Republican leadership has none. Piss on them and they'll look up and say it must be raining.

Not illegal to pay a hooker to shut up, Obama and Hillary both got caught and paid a fine to the FEC which has jurisdiction over ALL election matters. It happened after his election and if it was for his image as well as political image. He is innocent.
