Well another unhealthy but one of our favorite breakfast foods.
Unfortunately, we have been noticing that even the best brands are starting to put more potatoes in and less corned beef. It’s so “lean” on the meat that we have been putting butter in it just to get it to brown a bit.
I think it’s time for us to look for a recipe to do home made.
Has anyone else ever tried making homemade?

You can make your own brine and do it at home or buy one vacuum packed, prebrined in the store.
Cook it like a roast. Get a flat, not a point. Easier to slice for tenderness.

But how do you make “corned beef hash” out of it? Cube it and add potatoes? I’m thinking there are some additional spices that are put in?

Cube it, shred it, chopped it, pull it....whatever texture you want. Cubed potatoes, onions are basic but you can add peppers or whatever you want. Saute in butter and add beef or any precooked beef. Brown to your degree of brownness.

Mix it up in a skillet. Put it on a plate with two eggs with runny yolks on top.

When I make my annual trip to Vegas every year for our anniversary we stay at the New York New York hotel and the breakfast restaurant that we eat at makes them that way but adds bell pepper and it’s very good. There is also a Bahamian recipe called fire engine that I like too. Had some in Hope Town last week. Attachments:

When I was a kid one of my aunts would open a can of corned beef, stew it down with chopped onions, and diced potatoes, Then served over rice. Filling on a cold day.

I'd bet LEMS has a Brine / Spice kit for Hash. I've made Pastrami Venison several times before. Brisket or Ham chunks ..3 to 5 pounds each. Used their Mixes. Then throw it on a Slicer and some good Rye..your set

I made a batch two days ago.
I had a corned beef brisket in my freezer that I bought when on sale for St. Patty day.
Slow cooked it for 7 hours, cubed it and put it with diced potatoes and onions.
I fry it up and then make a hole in the middle of the hash and put my eggs in there. It's great tasting but not super healthy.
I don't do the canned hash as it smells like ass.
