Swampdog, I hear ya on the speedo or swim trunks.. It's definitely time to jump in the gator hole. Water Temps about 10 degrees cooler than air Temps.
I went in yesterday when putting the boat in, and the bride only had 1 line and it slipped off .
I was able to swim the boat in to shallow water and dock it.
Note to self. Always have a light line and boat keys on you when launching. High tide and a current make it an adventure..

Careful there. Some of yall ain't spring chickens. I recovered the body of a gentlemen who's boat got away from him on the Choctawhatchee River a few years ago. The rains made the river swell and it just got away from him so he thought he could swim it down. Meanwhile his wife of 50+ years sat on the bank watching the recovery efforts. They had been together since they were teenagers. Seeing her was one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever dealt with. The bodies don't bother me. But the loved ones and the hurt in their eyes stays with you forever. Guys, especially you older ones. Wear YOUR LIFE VEST AND KILL SWITCH. I've yet to recover a body in a life vest. I recovered 2 bodies and was part of the search for a 3rd in a weeks time(a child) thank GOD I didn't find her. I do not want to find a child
