Gator jowl tacos tonight, a few select cuts have been simmering in salsa , a fresh split chili pepper and a splash of pickle juice for about 2 hours now. Just got done trimming and steaking the other 50#’s worth. Tomorrow is cubing, vacc bagging and freezing night. I think I will grab a burger on my way home.

At the risk of further damaging my reputation...I had a bowl of shredded wheat with cut up peaches for dessert tonight.

Made a antipasto out of stuff in the fridge. I make a copycat dressing from an Italian place that used to be in Vilano Beach many years ago. They served it with their antipasto. Its basically a thousand island mixed with balsamic and red wine vinegar... plus a few spices. The sweetness goes well with the meats, cheese, and olives.

Last night after Bible study, we had a “get by” sandwich from a Firehouse sub shop. As said, it was just a get by as we weren’t home for a real meal.

Threw some Publix fresh bratwurst on the grill, caramelized some onions and bell pepper for the wife, and threw some pickled jalapeño peppers on the grill (on top of foil)the last 10 minutes to warm up, which were mostly for me. Split an avocado.

Fresh beet salad and a chicken salad. I’m sure hoping this healthy eating pays off… Primarily eating it with a smile to help the ladies drop a few pounds…

Took daughter and SIL to local hibachi joint. First time I'd been to one in decades. It was pretty good and entertaining. Chicken and shrimp, rice, noodles and veggies.

Fillet for the wife and a ribeye (odd shaped, but that's what Publix marked it) for me. Steamed broccoli as a side. Had planned to do sprouts, but when I cut into them it was definitely a no go!

I guess I need to google that conchy. Doesn’t sound good when I pronounce it, but I bet it’s great.
We had venison chili tonight. Rainy day and it was very well received.

Tokwa't Baboy and Goto for me tonight. Tripe and pigs ears? My wife just used what we had in the freezer for the goto as we need to try and clean it out before November as we are tenting the house. She used tripe, chicken gizzards, chicken livers and pork belly. The remaining pork belly was boiled and fried with tofu for the tokwa’t

Spatchcocked chicken on the grill (big ole bird from Publix). Threw some leftover steamed broccoli on the grill for the last 10 minutes or so, and steamed some fresh broccoli and cauliflower.

Growing up I never had wet battered fish. When I married my first wife, who was Scottish, I learned to like Fish and chips and later on (Baja Mexico) Ensenada fish tacos. Sometimes while deep dropping we will catch Southern Hake and although they are somewhat mushy, they make excellent beer battered fish and chips. Life is all about expanding your horizons and taste buds and trying new things.

Made a "clean the frig out" soup.
Had some fajita beef, Brussel spouts, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, mushrooms and beef broth. Stuck it in the crockpot about 11 after caramelizing the onions and beef.
