This is the marinade I use for Korean beef ribs. There is something about the pear that really gives it that extra flavor. ⅓ cup soy sauce ⅓ cup brown sugar ⅓ cup rice wine 1 tablespoon sesame oil 2 teaspoons black pepper ¼ teaspoon cayenne or gochujang 1 medium onion, peeled and quartered 8 garlic cloves, peeled 1 small Asian pear, peeled, cored and quartered (or use an ordinary pear or tart apple) 1 1-inch chunk of ginger, peeled Good stuff, mine is similar and apple substitutes for the pear nicely. And mirin for the rice wine. I also add honey, black strap molasses and fish or oyster sauce. I love sesame oil but, it can really take over if not careful. Just an FYI

This peanut sauce is good on rice noodles and veggies and you can add chicken or pork. But the sauce is so good no meat is needed. This stuff is AMAZING! Attachment Deleted my wife makes the peanut butter too.

If it's written on a stained index card; It's usually worth trying.
I have several card boxes full of recipes handed down from my grandmother and mother. I would like to digitize them but haven't found the time.

We put everything in a binder, note cards, recipes torn from a magazine or newspaper, etc. We use the clear plastic sheets and organize by sauces, breads, game, fish, veggie, etc.

That's about how most of mine are contained right now. I do have a directory on my file server with the ones I've transcribed so far but it's only a small percentage.

Wife made herself a cod and garlic recipe, which just the smell of, makes me sick to my stomach! I warmed up a ham and cheese in the oven, but will probably eat more after walking the pups tonight.

Does cobbler fall under pie or other?

I try to not overly complicate things. Meat= marinades, detailed smoking/ grilling/ roasting time and temps. Fry stuff= anything deep fried/pan fried and any complimentary sauces. Other= mostly veg and side dishes Pie= all of my (2) grandmothers pie recipes , and a few of my own.
Plenty more in the family book, takes something special to make it into MINE.

The wife marinates wings in a diluted soy sauce/water mixture along with a lot of garlic, for a minimum of 48 hours. Then bakes around 1-1/2 hours flipping halfway through. Very tasty, and had with Rice A Roni and some apple sauce. I cleaned a honeydew earlier and it is perfect. Will have some of it later for desert.

Shrimp or Crawdads..? I've been working on catching Crawdads here in my local swamp ponds. It's hard to get enough big ones to fool with. I heard as the summer goes on they get a bunch bigger..We'll see.

I gave up my cast net throwing days shortly after your old place opened up near me many years ago. Too much work to take the boat out shrimping. Been getting my skrimps there ever since. Along with most of my fish and seafood.
