You guys have had a definite influence. I've been using a small toaster oven for years and pretty much like it, but it's lacking in high temperature capability and is very hard to clean.
Reading all the stuff about your air fryers, I think it's time to give one a go....but which one ??
It won't be a big use thing...more for frozen pizza and chicken wings sort of stuff, so don't need a lot of bells and whistles. I see them online for anywhere from around ~$60 to over $200.
What would you gour-met chefs recommend to me for a low priced, smaller air fryer ??

A gourmet chef would not recommend an air fryer.

Mine is my oven. My oven is split in into two separate chambers with two sets of burners. The largest chamber is a convection oven. Which is all an air frier is.
I owned a small one that was built like a deep frier. It cooked well but wasn’t convenient due to its small size and basket shape.
I highly recommend having one as a full-sized oven.

Just get a small one....
I was in the same place about a year ago. Then I saw one in Costco for 40$ and thought.....why not? I think you should consider ease of use(cleaning) and counter space.....that way you will regret it less if you find you're not using it. After 1 year, I have no regrets, I use it a lot, but if it was any larger, it would be in a closet or the garage and forgotten about.

I used to sell these in our stores, Midea brand, low tier, with dials not electronic controls. They are super cheaper and built like tanks. Midea is the largest consumer white goods manufacturer in the world.

They work pretty good. We use convection toaster oven daily, air fryer every 6 weeks or so.

To save counter space we got the combination toaster oven/air fryer. Ours is the Cuisinart with knobs. It does ok for both duties but not as great as a dedicated air fryer according to the experts. Use it a lot. They are great for reheating regular fried wings and chicken as you can put the crispiness back to a degree.

Instructions say 400 for 40 minutes. I poke a couple of forks in them and do 375 for 30 minutes then kick it up to 400 for the last ten. Comes out really good.

To get the full air frier experience you just make sure the items you’re cooking are resting on a rack that allows airflow underneath and that there’s a pan to catch drippings in should the item be of the sort that sweats grease, like bacon does.

I got mine as a Christmas gift years ago and the basket is too small. My wife got a Pampered Chef air fryer from selling their products. It was one of those toaster oven kind. We tried it and it took up too much counter space and was tedious to clean. Sold it and bought the instapot vortex. We use it at least 2 or 3 times a week. It's easy to clean. Just pull the basket out, run hot water in it, let it soak and wash it out. It's smaller too. It's just right for us.

The GF has a air fryer for the smaller and quicker items and she loves it. We also can use our range if need be. We have a Frigidaire Gallery (came with the house) and it does a good job. When I redo the kitchen I'll put new appliances in, maybe Profile or Cafe.

A gourmet chef would not recommend an air fryer. That's why I hyphenated "gour-met" - to show it's a tongue in cheek comment, as opposed to the usual "gour-may."

My present Hamilton Beach is a good example of that and I've learned by it. It's actually a very small air fryer - convection, etc. - but has the lift-up glass door and has to be dismantled to clean the inside of the door....and it does get splattered - a lot. PIA. It works but doesn't have high enuf temp capability and the convection fan is puny.
