In range, does that include the return to Gainesville on a single charge? He's got a house just south of Matanzas with a tesla charger. The St lucie trip would be another story, but only occasionally as a starting point for Abacos. I’m interested in how much money it cost to charge? Even using a Tesla charger how do they bill you and how much does it cost to use it? It would also be interesting how much is taxed and what percentage is road use taxes?

Pulling the 10,000 boat from gville th st augustine or to port st Lucie are all within range without charge. bullshit. Show pics of the ev pulling a 33’ mirage. We never hooked up the lightening to the Mirage. In this case it is not an issue to pull from Gville house to beach house and ramp at the St. Aug lighthouse. The total range for the Lightening is about 300 and the towing the boat from Gville to Matanzas round trip is 190 miles more or less. Plus the boat lives in Matanzas 90% of the time. The problem would be the occasional trip south to launch to Abacos. We are think he could hire a portable charger to come and tend the car while in the Bahamas. There is also a charger at Port St Lucie but would have to charge before the crossing or spend time after. Lot a times we go down the night before and sleep in the truck and we could charge then.
He has not bought one yet. He used to run the F250 on 100% biodiesel before trump axed the blender credit and put First Cast Biofuels out of business and the biodiesel reactor in Lakeland. They have a Tesla Y and regularly take it to Fanklin NC with a 30 minute charging layover and a 15 minute stop as well.

It's based on your home KW charge and if you have solar. Short answer is 64% less than gas.

Spent time in a Tesla Y this weekend and an 80 mile drive in the Lightening....0-60 in 3.8 seconds is fast. The Tesla is not far behind. Pretty amazing techno, but I would not want the bells and whistles, just a simple EV with analog gauges.
