In the tractor/heavy equipment world it is the same nonsense with Deere & Cat and the rest........ The interesting thing is that in a way the inability to fix newer equipment causes older equipment to stay in the field longer. If the manufacturers were a bit more enlightened they'd figure that out. And they'd also figure out that they are making users, farmers and loggers and the rest, making them all detest the manufacturers. And when a company is detested by their customers it is a sure thing that the very moment a different source of supply comes along, one who does not operate under the idea of capturing the customer in a web that those customers will be gone! You deal with the Devil when he's the only one with the water........but only so long as there are no other sources. |

I do too. Makes me a little nervous the the money behind CAR Coalition is the insurance companies and auto parts companies. I wonder who the big winners will be? Will my insurance rates go down since the vehicle will be cheaper to repair? If the part costs 50% less to make, will it cost me 50% less at the parts store? Or do both of these guys see a bit more profit in their pocket if this bill passes. Things that make you go, hmm. |

I do too. Makes me a little nervous the the money behind CAR Coalition is the insurance companies and auto parts companies. I wonder who the big winners will be? Will my insurance rates go down since the vehicle will be cheaper to repair? If the part costs 50% less to make, will it cost me 50% less at the parts store? Or do both of these guys see a bit more profit in their pocket if this bill passes. Things that make you go, hmm. One will decide that 45% is enough and will then lower prices to lure customers. The others will see that and lower to 40% to lure customers. Then someone will decide they're happy with 35% and they'll lower to lure customers and on and on and on and eventually.....ground zero......and the customers save. All of us in business have done it when we see a competitor making a killing on something......we sell for a little less, still making a lot.....and then the other guy notices and he drops his price to get customers back and on it goes. It's generally when government gets involved such that there is no competition that that system does not function. |
