Got out again last week and were able to fill the cooler with some beeliners, triggers and a few red grouper. We targetted the beeliners in about 140' fishing light leaders, weights and 2/0 hooks. They were a bit more shy than the triggers on the first day. We probably caught 4 dozen triggers but only kept 3. The middle of the water column was best. We tried a few different spots working our way back into 90' but never got even a short grouper. The ARS were there of course along with some amberjack. On the second day, we had more success with the beeliners and tried a few different grouper holes with decent success. The beeliners were mainly taken with cut squid and the grouper seemed to bite slow pitch jigs over any natural bait.
Bait is starting to move back onto the beaches and the water temps ranged from 69 offshore to 64 on the beach. No bluewater sighted, but with all of the rain and northerly and easterly winds, I wasn't expecting any.

Thank you for the fishing report. It is more welcome than a "day of the week" post which has nothing to do with fishing.

Nice report, where were you out from ? Out of Indian Pass, home sweet home. Shorter runs than Apalach or CBelle and no no-wake zones . Just wish it wasn't as busy as it has become.

God I wish I could live down there. Although in a few years it'll be just like everything else in Florida. I wish they'd make a size limit on housing developments down there. No more 3+ story beach houses everywhere. Just simple fishing camp homes Dang Yankees ruin everything

Was a cool beverage in the Raw Bar on your itinerary ? We have had a few good lunches there on our travels, always was a place with a good atmosphere.
