Had a great day fishing (and catching!) out of Flamingo on Saturday my fishing bud Mike. Started the morning working some creek mouths on the coast during the last hour or so of falling water. We got in to a solid topwater bite resulting in about 20 Trout and 10 Reds. The strikes were so aggressive, violent and loud we were both having a blast. When the tide stopped, so did the bite so we headed offshore to a well known wreck. We managed some jack, blue runners, bluefish and Mike got himself a nice Pompano to add to the box. We were hoping to find some Sheephead or Cobia but no luck. So we moved back inside to fish the incoming tide and found a bunch more snook and reds including a top of the slot Red that Mike was able to sight fish as I was releasing his smaller companion. We ended the day looking for some poons to complete our super slams but could not find any to play with. Overall an outstanding day and definitely our best day of 2024 so far! Great day... Me? I'm busy working on lure orders and some rod building...with no bookings until next week. Just nothing like the 'glades...
