Good morning. 13 outside and freeze stats tripping on fans that mysteriously shut down last night. I wonder how many CT fills will collapse today?

Good morning. Good grief. What’s a CT fill?

It's the fill in a cooling tower that breaks the water up so it evaporates more efficiently.
Over the years, I've seen several where the temp probes or basin heaters fail, the pumps do not bypass or shutdown.

Good morning ... sorta.
The weather's better, I'm not.
No headache, no fever, no pain ... just feel really crappy.
This is day number 4 ... and a visit to the MD isn't in the cards.
Primary care MD just retired, and the earliest appointment with the new guy is in April.
Will probably go to an urgent care later for a COVID test.

Thanks Ferris. Nikon you need to get to Urgent care. I hear the Paxlovid works best. Fella I used to work with about 45 years old was in hospital with pneumonia last week. Had cardiac arrest. Didn’t make it. Covid stuff I think. It’s still around

The cooling tower is where the heat from whatever is being cooled is rejected. Same on your home,it’s just air to air. All refrigerant does is pick up heat and transfers it. Cooling towers are a big air washer. I have to clean them and Ferris provides water treatment. And I replace motors and gearboxes in them. Since 99% of our work is hospitals, motors are 40hp to 125hp.

Ours are 200hp and go thru a gearbox as big as the mototr itself
