We put up about 50 or 60 lbs of squash and zucchini. Wife boils it and we put it in 1 qt freezer bags. Just finished our last bag from last spring. It’s nice to combine it with onions and a bit of seasoning. Always ready to go. Planning to pick blueberries tomorrow while she’s at the beach. Nice, that brings back great memories.

Did our normal Meals on Wheels run, hung anonther TV (no tears this time, Amazon has the best mount out that adjusts in all dimensions after installing. Saved our marriage). Going to see the kids tennis match. Tomorrow we close on the sale on the old house, and I will do a back flip.

Went to sleep at 1 AM with no dinner and one beer. Slept till 9ish then ate a big lunch and went back to bed till 4. Lazy tired day...of course yesterday I went fishing. Launched the boat and was 5 miles offshore and 5/6 miles north on the Forgotten Coast. not a Soul for miles.Spring Warrior Creek ramp..seculded as hell. After catching 3 nice Trout on the first drift I ...Tried to start the motor, Nope , Dead as a roadside Possum. Thankfully we had a good SW wind..We drifted till we hit the Marsh grass, 2 or 3 hours. Then my fishing Pard hopped out and started pulling the boat along as I sat in the back with the Pushpole. We pulled that boat for them 5/6 miles down the coast drifting across all the little creeks and bays where it was too deep to pole or wade. We hit Spring Warrior Creek mouth and of course the tide was running out. I pushpoled and waded right along the shoreline for another 2/3 miles in the slap ass dark..lot's of fun... Think Oyster Bars and Mud Banks. On Foot , in the dark. I'd walk into deep mud holes and just slip on down holding on to the boat for life..Slick bottoms full of hard packed mud. Up to my head in the water. Lot's of Interesting things rushing by my legs and feet. We hit the Ramp at 12:03 Dark Thirty. What don't Kill you makes you Stronger City boys... Taylor County Strong

Spent the night in Cannon Beach Oregon. On to Mt. Hood. You might want to check when the Shad are running in the Columbia River. Seems to me it was around this time of year. Had lots of fun with them just below Bonneville Dam...many years ago.

Good luck to you and your boy OMG. I’m already jonesing for next year. Thanks Cracker. We didn't get a chance to actually hunt them yet this season. Just procured a little lease and have spent the spring trying to clean it up and get it ready for deer. I think we only sat for about a hour this season between clearing brush and setting up stands. Got a couple of grand daddys on film for next season though. Hopefully this is a long term thing that we can develop. I desperately need a forestry mulcher or some limited fire though.

It’s always work, but with the reward of good times with friends and family. The hunting is a bonus. I was out last night with our biologist doing the biannual alligator survey. On a Wednesday night, an hour from home. Now I’m sitting at my desk wondering where the nap is gonna come from. But it’s all worth it, to me.
Good luck again, hope we get some dead turkey pics upon your return.

Went fishing! Pics in BigBend. To be amended with a full report and some interesting observations later today.
7 species of fish. One keeper, 17 inch red the largest and threw back the keeper whiting. Only 4 blue crabs in the traps.
Great day though.

Went trolling for dolphin and got the skunk. Fortunately my friend is selling his boat and we wont be doing this again. I told him we can go bottom fishing, run the beaches, river fish, but no more trolling.

I told him we can go bottom fishing, run the beaches, river fish, but no more trolling. I gave up trolling for dolphin a decade ago. If they swim up to the boat while I’m deep dropping then I will try to put some in the boat but that’s it for me.
