How many rounds did you send at him?
LMAO None... I would have unloaded on him... But he slipped off the bank of the Canal on Farm Field Road in Dinner....
I think they are showing up more in Hendry County..... I got that one last summer in Spirit..... A few months ago I saw one dead, hit by a car on 833 South of Dinner...
They are adding substrate/working on the roads on the Addition lands in the Slough.... A month or so ago I saw a snake track that was way to big to be an EDB on a freshly worked road.... I poked around in the area the track went off the road.... But did not find anything.... Then I saw one last week in Dinner, the first I have seen out there.
You should have put the pedal to the metal and bit him with a tire!

Saw a pine snake the other day. Pretty cool snake! I’ve seen plenty of coachwhips and indigos but, that was the first pine snake for me. FYI please report Pine Snakes (and indigos and EDBs) to the FWC
Thanks, but no thanks. No plans to report any of the sightings they ask for, except maybe an exotic. Not really something I believe they need to know. It’s doing fine right where it is.

Not too long ago I saw a real healthy one right here by the house, about 5 feet. First one I’ve seen in years. I don’t mess with them unless it’s an area where young kids are around. This one was left alone.

Don’t know a heck of a lot about the Eastern Diamondback but with all the development going on, you could believe numbers across the state will drop. However, the WMAs should be a relative Mecca for them overall. I know some years I see a lot, then rarely then the numbers appear up again. I know we’ve had a beautiful spring Turkey season with cool temps which will result in less seen most days.

Yea. The WMA's will be the sanctuary with protected habitat. That is the no brainer for land already controlled by the Gov't. The issue will be access to the WMA's and whether they will limit access or close access altogether if designated Endangered. Like closing for mating season in late summer through fall when they are up and about. Unfortunately, that coincides with Hunting seasons.
"We" have to really start protecting these animals if we want the public access lands remain open to the pubic. I've been screaming from the rooftops that these days are coming....
PLEASE Spread the word...

The war on feral Hogs has to help them also.

For what it’s worth, the big one I saw recently was in an area that is loaded with big hogs

Give it time and those hogs will probably find him. Nature is based on critters eating other critters. Hogs will eat anything and everything. Not many animal populations are static, they’re always trending. Right now, the woods where I frequently ramble, Cottontails are everywhere. That usually means the predators will reap the benefits and the bobcats and foxes will become more numerous. Always enjoy hearing what folks are seeing and experiencing.

The war on feral Hogs has to help them also. Agree..they should put a bounty on female/breeding hogs year round..day/night hunting. Even let ATV's off road to fetch downed hogs. Make it easy to shoot/dispose of carcasses. Gotta get the kill rate up big time. I bet night vision hunting would be popular enough to put a dent on WMA's
