Well I have been chasing functions with guage accuracies. Guages are still analog, and I'm mostly fine except fuel is running high by 15 gallons or so. So seeing as my chartplotter has function to display guage info I may go there. Nema 2000 network and fuel flow meter and engine interface.
Now has anyone used these on their chartplotter, and if so what are thoughts of them?

Nema 2k starter kit and backbone cable came to day. Pretty solid wiring it looks like. Now waiting on engine harness, fuel flow meter and nema 2k cable to chartplotter. It should come tomorrow. I may get the 183 output cable as well to feed gps position to vhf radio. Humminbird helix, glad it is a g4n so cabling is easier. Fuel flow meter outputs Fuel Flow Tank Fuel Used Trip Fuel Used Seasonal Fuel Used
Yamaha nema engine interface cable outputs
RPM Alternator Voltage Engine Hours Engine Temperature Fuel Pressure Fuel Rate Oil Pressure Trim* Water Pressure
*Digital trim must be connected by a Yamaha dealer.

A working fuel guage, water pressure, trim, temperature, and fuel used as well as trip and fuel economy and burn rate.

Well I'll find out soon enough when I refuel boat. 60 gal tank, analog guage says 1/2 remaining, trip fuel used says 28.1

And..there is no way I could put more than 21.1 gallons in.. So fuel rate must be coming from a chineese input..someting Wong. Ill disconnect sensor from network, and see if that solves it. Remember, this is a runs with scissors network. Lowrance engine interface cable, and lowrance fuel flow sensor, and humminbird helix g4n plotter So there are 2 devices giving fuel rate, sensor and engine interface. And it looks like while fuel rate seems reasonable, it is twice what is used. 14 gallons the fuel pump shut off. It was a struggle to get the other 7 gallons in.
NFJ..(no forking joy) Well, disconnected fuel sensor from network, no diffrence. Can't reset trip fuel.

Well nema 2000 isn't a any manufactures device works with any others even if they are both nema 2000 compliant.
Same issue, 2019 post diffrent forum.
I despise Proprietary crap ..
All the navico devices should say "only listed features work with navico devices, using other brand guage or multi function device may not work as described"
BUT that disclaimer is not on info page, cand install page shoes calibration with navico devices.

Nice setup. It seems all of the MFDs have some sort of proprietary crap. I found out the hard way when I wanted to add a trolling motor with spot lock into my existing Nema Raymarine network. Sad F'in story for me

Yeah, I pilot, minkota following contours and tracks, that's humminbird. Fuel flow, and fuel functions and sensors, that's lowrance, simrad, navico stuff. Nema 2000 isn't new, granted it started as lowrance red network. But honestly I'm just before saying screw it, and getting a nema 2k gps puck and simrad is 35 and having guages only be on ignition switch, and using sonar and fish finder for sonar, water temp, and navigation on its own switch not tied to ignition. Why..well I've read in places that zero fuel flow and extended times of it being reported as zero cause issue. Or I can wait on gps puck, and pull analog tach out, put simrad in, and use analog speedo. Yeah I won't have any distance related fuel functions, unless I give it output from the bird. But navico and birds on same network seem like kindergartens not playing well with others.

Ok, well the bird could not reset trip fuel. So I took the lowrance sensor out of network. Bird still could not reset trip fuel. Disconnected engine from network, set bird back to defaults and upgraded to latest firmware. Reconnected engine. Reset up pages and guages.
I did notice that if fuel tank size changed, it would not update until next power on, same as total fuel remaining. No option of reseting trip fuel, only triplog and total fuel.
