7 freaking points for general gun got the last gun hunt at dinner island my 5th choice RETURN. bunch of picayune permits for all hunts so depending on what i find at corbett or if the glades are open most of those will be RETURNED. 6 preference points for one of my associates for blackpowder unsuccessful i got 1 opening day archery at a pretty good area so if i can keep the guys from romp and stomp from swinging around in there saddles in this area they claim to have found 4 years ago even though me and friends been killing bucks in the exact spot for over 15 years i should be good , then they post public land hunting videos news flash if it takes 7 years for a chance to hunt it its not public land. another associate got a really good permit for blackpowder up north in the panhandle , thats right gonna be invading a lot of you guys backyard at least for a weekend.

I got Dupuis Muzzle loader and 1st gun.. now someone tell me how to kill a deer. thats easy very good permit concentrate on the side where dupuis and corbett meet pick a powerpole and start scouting best to be up in a tree as you wont wanna be walking around as it will be crowded get to spot early TIP 5 am is not early i would be parked before 4am i might not head to my stand but i will be there parked first so if another hunter pulls in you guys can let each other know where you are going . lotta guys will leave the woods by 11 am you wanna be in your stand all day if you can so pick a spot with some shade. |

I did pretty well this time (for once) Decent Archery and Gun hunts. They're at least at my local WMAs and I've heard they're good. No experience myself as it has taken me 4 years to draw on either of them. Jennings Forrest and Belmore for those that are wondering.
I also pulled the permit for the first 9 days of Archery/ML at Raiford, but will likely be returning that one. I really miss hunting where I grew up in Missouri...

I pulled the same gen gun permit I pulled last year. My cameras were loaded but come the quota weekend bad weather rolled in and severely diminished my chances. Ended up with tag soup but I have a really good starting point for this year.

I would love to get into a decent family club in FL but the costs are crazy. Since we lost our space in SC to a EV battery plant I've been looking for a place to hang my hat and there's more bullshit and money involved with most of these leases than it's worth. My pockets and my freezer stay a lot more stocked by driving across the border to Georgia or SC and there's a lot less bullshit involved but I still haven't found a place to hang my hat. In the meantime I'll be slumming with the rest of the public land schlubs. Just like old times... yippee! Talk to linemanNF who was Lineman North Florida on the FS Forum. |

Probably shouldn’t spread the information but I found out that I could create an account for my 3 year old daughter and apply without getting her a license. The points will be there when they’re ready. |

Me and my crew did ok, we have enough to work with. I agree that it’s taking more points than ever to get a decent hunt. One guy I know couldn’t get dinner muzzleloader with 8points! It’s not worth waiting a decade to hunt anywhere in Florida imo. I’ll be focusing on the mediocre spots going forward…. Good luck to all that were successful! him and his CREW WE GOT A GAMER. I have a feeling my crew isn’t as big as YOUR ASSOCIATE list!.. I sign up 2 people besides myself. I wish they would do something to stop the games. It’s driving up the points needed for a good area. At least there is comfort to be had with y’all on the family hunt points. Failed to draw with 8 preference points this year. Now I’m just intrigued to find out how many points it takes to get in the gate for that hunt. Oddly enough I drew this place for archery with three points this year. First time ever getting a permit there (hatchet creek).

I burned 7, all on hatchet. I have never hunted it but my buddy has drawn 3 or 4 times.

No wonder dem boys trying to sell their permits so fast.... Are they selling at "face value". I remember on the old nwtf forum a guy was trying to sell a S Op turkey permit. He was in Seattle Washington. Never disclosed how he happened to have one . I often put in for Fisheating Creek East. Those bad boys once brought top dollar on the "face value" flip the permit market. Never drew one. Lol - what a system! |

After all these years so many have not figured out that your FIRST choice is the one that really counts. Don't think that having a million preference points will get you a third choice over a guy with 5 points applying for the same hunt as his first choice. Some still think the old NBA draft system is in effect. It isn't and probably never was. I'd post there but have been banned for a year or so. I'm watching the one that banned me like a circling buzzard on this new forum.Lol.

I think as long as Off Topic/Politics is available you are stuck. With the right mindset it can be a LOL. With the early shutdown of the other forum there may be a surge.
