Good luck to all my fellow south zone hunter’s!….. Dinner opens tomorrow and the rest start Saturday I believe. Been seeing plenty of daylight buck movement and bucks are chasing. Unfortunately for me , I came down with Covid ,on Monday of this week the symptoms started. It’s my first time getting it and it’s been rough to say the least..I’ll be out there Saturday morning one way or another! …

Good luck. When I took my first bow deer in Ohio there was frost on the old Baker climber and I shivered. Can't even imagine hunting 🦌 in 90 degrees. Hope to see some pictures soon. If anyone encroaches on your spot give them a big hug and breathe on them. That'll fix them. Lol.

Lol, no... I have 4 archery. My son had 2nd archery. I returned his permit when he elected to miss freshman football practice to goof off at the beach.
One must learn to prioritize, put in their work, and make good on their commitments to others in order to live in peace and receive good things around me. I don't give out participation awards.
The problem with my rash decision, however, is that his missing practice was more his mom's fault, so she too incurred great wrath and gnashing of teeth.
The upside to all of this is increased self initiated bow shooting and tree climbing with the climber in the back yard and renewed zeal in household chores so it's a win for everyone. Not to mention we're still flush with various permits and Corbett...
Honestly, these permitted 3 day hunts are tough to get excited about after having it so good in SC for so long. One of my hunting buddies is battling a returning manifestation of prostate cancer and another buddy is falling apart so bad that he is basically incapable of everything beyond trigger pulling... The work load for one man has increased to the point that hunting has become more like a job. I wasn't kidding about cleaning over 30 deer last year between us in 9 days of hunting... a good problem to have but a lot of work on top of all the other things.

Oh ok… Tough lesson for the young man , but necessary. If I remember correctly, you had the same permit last year and had a decent hunt. My nephew wound up drawing it in redraws so we will be there for week 2 just like last year. There’s something to be said about taking deer on public land imo. I’ve hunted private land also, but really enjoy the challenge of public…. You definitely won’t have to worry about cleaning 30 deer!😆

LOL…. That’s the one thing that always amazes me. People are taking 100 yard shots on 100 pound deer and are shocked when they don’t hit it in the tiny vitals. Just as many deer get injured there as do recovered sadly |

You should see King Ray arrow a deer at 100 yards across a flag pond. You don't want that boy coming after you if you're a deer.

Man I admire you guys that can get out in this weather. When its this hot my body screams fishing not hunting. Bow season up here is mid September and even that is a stretch sometimes....with the weather.
