Being somewhat pragmatic, I was thinking.
If something happened to Trump, how much of Trump's base would shift to Vance?
How many would just sit out?
A serious answer please. ( I know, I know. I'll probably be a victim of my expectations.)
If you are a steadfast Trump supporter, would you shift to Vance?

I don’t think it will change anything.
If anything it will solidify the base and probably move a lot of independent and even middle of the road democrats over.

It's really not about the individual, it's more ideological based. Freedom, justice, peace, accountability rather than authoritarianism, corporatism, unjustified war, equal outcomes rather than equal opportunity, being invaded by the third world etc.

His polling number are never over 48% even when he is leading in a poll. Vance won't improve those numbers and likely lose votes in critical battleground states. RFK can't win either. That said, Vance could make a bold move like adding Haley to the ticket and maybe increase his numbers in key states. Not sure his ideology would allow Haley as VP though, I think he would pick Ramaswamy or similar far right MAGA as his VP.

Like I said when Vance was first announced; “you better watch out...” Vance is the real deal. Not in the sense that he’s the sort of real, principled, ideologue I would tend to support if he or she had character to pair with ideological sincerity. He’s “real” in the sense he’s the progression and the sum of what the current MAGA movement is looking for in a young leader to inherit Trump’s legacy.

And it worries me because I do not believe most Trump supporters realize when Vance would take the country.

Vance is an excellent example of the mollified political rhetoric of the right and how they really are victimized.
