Wanna put some money where your mouth is? The sad thing is that we all know, no matter which Team we are on, that there is a class of people who do not suffer the consequences of the actions they engage in the way those of us in the lower middle and the bottom do. If there is a issue on display here it is that one................ And......that they are getting him for drugs.....small irony in that........ Tax evasion. Not drugs. The injustice department conveniently let the FARA violation pass the statute of limitations but the IRS has a long reach. "Joe Biden’s son could now face up to 17 years in prison for his crimes, which include tax evasion, filing fraudulent tax returns and failing to pay taxes." www.cnn.com/2024/09/05/politics/hunter-biden-case/index.html

Every time I hear the Alford please I think of the West Memphis 3. Talk about a miscarriage of justice and railroading Those kids biggest crimes were being poor and not in the cool club.

Wonder how the sentence will compare with what Trump gets for the same offense. Except Trump's tax offense is much larger. Of course. Really? Did Trump fail to declare $millions in income received while illegally acting as a foreign agent? Feel free to prove that assertion.

I also do reading and am happy to cite my sources (and unafraid to defend my words!). You and BB might even try it sometime. To wit:
...
Hunter Biden had originally pleaded not guilty to a nine-count indictment that included six misdemeanor charges of failure to pay, plus a felony tax evasion charge and two felony charges of filing false returns.
But on Thursday, just moments before prospective jurors were to be summoned into the Los Angeles courtroom where his trial was scheduled to begin, Abbe Lowell, an attorney for Hunter Biden, announced his intention to submit a so-called "Alford plea," which would allow Hunter Biden to plead guilty on all counts but preclude him from acknowledging guilt on the underlying conduct.
When prosecutors opposed that path -- and Judge Scarsi expressed some hesitation in granting it -- attorneys for Hunter Biden said he would enter a traditional guilty plea.
"Mr. Biden is prepared to proceed today and finish this," Lowell said Thursday afternoon in court.
In pleading guilty to the tax charges, Hunter Biden managed to avoid what was expected to be a grueling and potentially embarrassing weekslong trial, during which prosecutors had planned to examine interludes from his time as a drug addict and his overseas business ventures.
...
As usual, BB was only giving you part of the story, and, again as usual, you had nothing substantive to add in defense of your favorite contrarian except 3rd grade ad hominem.
Now that we've cleared that up, do you or Bullfrog have any more questions....or shall I taunt you a second time?
An Alford plea is a guilty plea. The implication of your statement is that the judge rejected the best interest guilty plea. It appears what actually happened is the prosecutors caused a stink on principle and Biden decided “hey, I want to do this today, so I’ll just fully admit guilt with no reservations so this won’t be delayed.” Rushing through to get the plea in timely, as the first post of the thread suggests. You’re only correct that the judge didn’t accept the Alford plea because Biden withdrew it from consideration so Biden could plea right then. Of course an Alford plea is a guilty plea and it's not my fault you implied things I never said. I was right the judge didn't accept the (first) Alford plea. I was right he accepted the (second) guilty plea. I was right that BB only told part of the story -- and I even provided a nice source to explain it to you both. I was right that Kemper didn't add anything to the conversation, and I was correct in my spelling of your vocation.
In fact, I wasn't wrong about a single thing, and I will note your use of the word rushed is an unsubstantiated pejorative at best.
Any more questions?

He has no fear of pleading guilty. I wonder why? 🤔 Can’t imagine that he wanted his dirty laundry aired to the public in court while exposing himself to perjury charges at the same time. Pleading guilty was the only way to avoid further embarrassment to himself and his family.

You typed all of to still be wrong about what you thought you were correcting. Just like cadboy, you create a false narrative and then present an argument against it. I didn't type all that, silly BB. I used cut & paste from an actual source for the majority of it (even italicizing it so you wouldn't become confused again) and only typed the first and last two lines (and the ellipsis).
You might try that instead of posting unsourced half truths or flat out lies....or not, and I'll continue to correct you and tell the rest of the story.
Also, I wasn't wrong, you were the one who tried to create a false narrative by only telling part of the story, and I only posted to correct it. Stop projecting.

Then what was the point of you wording the statement like you did? Do you admit that a more accurate and relevant statement would have been “Biden decided to withdraw his attempt to make an Alford best interest guilty plea, and instead opted to plea straight guilty and admit guilt”? What the judge did or didn’t do with the Alford plea is completely irrelevant if he didn’t reject it. The judge was a passive actor in that scenario.

The point was Hunter's guilty plea had already been accepted. Again, I was attempting to correct BB's half-truth, and, yes, the way you put it above would be accurate as well.
What I think happened here is you presumed I was referring to the judge in an active way in those two sentences, when I was really just stating facts and giving the rest of the story. Read the thread again from the top and you will note the thread title, referring to our so-called Alford plea, followed by BB saying the prosecutor was objecting, followed by me providing the rest of the story, you questioning me, kemper stirring the nonsense pot, me posting the article with the details, and we spiraled from there.
Hopefully, within that context my comments make more sense, but if not please do let me know and we can discuss it further.
Have a nice weekend, Bullfrog.
