Not airplanes just yet. Mine has tripled in value since I bought it, but likely will be falling in value soon.

I don’t believe the article (especially after reading the experts on here). With everyone doing so well financially right now why are people dumping their toys?
Something is amidst.

Well, with the increase in prices on new toys, then the supply issues during pandemic, the used market overtook the new market due to demand. 3 yr old boats were selling for new or more than new prices, new vehicles shady dealers were charging thousands of $$$$$ more than retail for market afjustments..used was going for more than new price..
Now that supply has caught up, the demand has waned.. but the big pandemic price jumps haven't gone down.. so no I feel no sorrow for the we are not making profits on things..
I was fortunate to got my toys for a good deal before it went nuts..and enjoy them..
But I'm realistic to know that they depreciate fast..someone else took that hit.

Going back to same ole. The bicycle business went nuts during covid causing manufacturers to ramp up and now there is a glut of prducts and bike shops are hurting. Many folks have gone back to the pre covid non cycling routines.

It all eventually comes back to supply and demand. Prices will adjust as units sit on lots.

Trucks and boats are so inflated it's ridiculous. It's gonna really hurt some folks when they have to dump them. And the some folks are gonna catch falling knives. Market is still retarded though it's not as bad as it was a year or so ago

I don't want another boat and never wanted an RV. I have thought about an RV several times. Small 16 to 18 foot trailer to pull behind the truck. Never convinced myself to buy one. Thought it would be nice for staying in for a night or two headed to a VRBO instead of a hotel.

Many of the collectables that went nuts during Covid are making a hard landing.
Vintage guitars and amps make good music, and weren't intended to be "investments".
( A major music retailer, "Sam Ash", has begun to close down after decades of business. )
The RV business doesn't deserve much sympathy, it's been its' own worst enemy.
Having 3rd world "build quality" is a given, in fact, it's the industry standard.
In addition to "monthly payment" gyrations, the price of fuel does the same.
Some seniors are considering a big new tent and "glamping" as an alternative.
Some are saying "screw it" and booking a week or two at Margaritaville.

So far i've been able to stand my ground.
I want absolutely nothing to do with an RV.
Don't want to drive one, don't want to have to maintain one, don't want to have to do all the hook up and un hook up shit.(not to mention disposing of the shit)
Basically, I'm to old for that stuff.
My idea of "roughing it" is a hotel that doesn't have valet parking.
