This hurricane season has been predicted to be the worst ever forecast.
I hope and pray that they are wrong.
No one can afford for insurance to go up even higher.
😳👎

They can't predict the weather let alone this, this season will be what it is. No worries here. Already prepaired.

It also rains more when there is a forecasted “30% chance of precipitation “. Only takes 1 storm ( and it doesn’t even have to be a hurricane).

Only worry about the ones forecast to hit land. 2023 was a busy year but only two made it to land. 2023 was the fourth most active in history.

Don't they say basically the same thing every year?

We are probably more prepared than ever before, but that's not saying a whole lot. My generator is full and I have three 5 gallon tanks load with Ethanol free fuel with 2x dose of Stabil. That will keep us going for a few days for everything except central air and hot water. I have a window shaker and portable air conditioner to help keep most of the house comfortable.
The neighbor lady across the cul-de-sac purchase a Kohler whole home generator after Ian, including having a 500 gallon propane tank installed. We are always welcomed over there.

Worst is what the weather forecast says. They used the word “worst”.

Worst is what the weather forecast says. They used the word “worst”. Which means that..........well.........worst? Highest number? But what if that "highest number" all basically spins around out in the ocean someplace? It's similar to the rest of what passes for "news" where we get all ginned up and concerned with the result being we click more or buy more. And.....do know......I am not saying they are wrong in their prediction of a more active tropical storm season than normal as weather forecasting is based on real data and some sound science being sorted through by smart folks. Just like to keep my skepticism lenses on.

Just like to keep my skepticism lenses on. That is my point and I agree. If the hurricane spins around in the Atlantic and never touches land, who cares how many there is. The big issue isn't the number of hurricanes, but the wind patterns that may cause one to come to shore. Is it El Nino or La Nina pattern that keeps hurricanes away from land and in the Atlantic? that's the information I want. All I care about are the ones likely to hit land. More importantly, hit Alachua County where I live. It is just to get people worked up to read about it and spend money preparing for something that might not ever happen.
