They coukd produce 10x more oil. But if you can't refine it it doesn't matter. So how bout building more refineries? Could that have been done in the past 3.5 years? IDK how long it takes. Ohhhhhh yeah….”end fossil fuels as we know it”…. Could it have been done in the prior 4? It's "'bout" or "about", by the way.

It's crude oil not gasoline. Nothing to worry about and it's not a security thing? Will your vehicle run on it? Pretty sure about every piece of equipment in the military was spec for tri fuel. Natural gas, diesel or crude oil. The SPR is crude oil. The OP is talking a gas reserve in the northeast that congress wanted closed. It is not security and was not for the military to use. It was designed to give short term relief if there was a supply issue that might affect the economy. The reason it is located in Texas and Louisiana is due to it being close to the refineries in the area. President George H W Bush ordered a drawdown in 1991 due to the Desert Storm war to bring down oil prices dues to supply issues In 2005 The other President Bush ordered a drawdown due to Hurricane Katrina and bring down gas prices There was the 2011 drawdown that was part of our international agreement to control world supply issues due to disruptions in Libya. The last was Biden's drawdown due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine to stabilize gas prices. That is the purpose and reason for the SPR and the PResident has authority to use it during these kind of events. It is not for military use. We do have the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska that was for military use, but the government lets commercial drilling occur there. There was a Naval Reserve but congress sold those decades ago.

The supply issue is we quit producing our own (lets go green/ electric) and started purchasing from dictator countries and enemies. This is some utter BS...Google is your friend. I'm saving you from looking like a dumbass.

Excuse me sir. If we produced 10X more oil and put it on the world market it would lower prices both domestically and globally. Lower prices are a double win! 1) Lower prices for the finished products in America 2) Weakening of our enemies abroad as their oil production will be less profitable for them. There isno we, you trying to socialize the oil companies?

We don't have socialized oil...except for all the subsides.

The oil guys have found it cheaper to expand current refinery capacity and increase refining capacity that way. Also it is cheaper to send some oil to Europe for refining and bring the gasoline back here, depending on where the well is located. We have ten less refineries than we had a decade ago and refine the same amount of fuel. You also have the NIMBY people. Where we going to put one of these refineries. Anyone willing to let them build one near your house? You guys wanting new refineries won't mind one built in your city would you? I doubt you will ever see a new refinery built no matter who the President is.
