That is good news. I think Nuclear power is a solution we have overlooked too long.

Palatka needs one. Don't be that way. They can build one near the GRU plant here as far as I'm concerned. Better than wasting money on that damn biomass plant.

I think there was supposed to be a new one in Levy county to replace the Crystal River plant a few years back, but opposition killed it. I have no issue with them. Progress or Duke or whoever the tax shelter they were operating CR 3 under screwed the pooch on that. They absolutely fucked up. They went cheap and it only cost them a reactor and Billions in lost revenue and decommissioning expenses. I had planned to move down there for the construction of the Levy county units (2). But when they cracked the containment wall at CR 3 all that got scrubbed. They may have had a chance if they woukd have admitted their fuck up from the get go but the NRC pretty much lost all confidence in them as an operator and they would have faced insurmountable odds to keep their operating licens. You would not hire a new co.pany who can do the job soooooo much cheaper to build or remodel your house and you damn sure shouldn't to fix your nuclear plant. Sigh* what could have been. I'm still pissed about it. My buddy was working here for me when we were both contractors. He tried to get me to go with him for a "6 week job" paying stupid money. I said nah I was good with my gig here and that would be over in a few weeks. We'll 3 years and 250k a year or more later he finally left down there. That was rhe second time he'd left a job qe were on and made stupid money. Hindsight

Americans say they want more refining capacity but nobody is signing up for a refinery down the street. Liberals beg for more windmill capacity but they don’t want their beach front view ruined.

We can't afford to chase this fairy tale climate stuff but if it makes someone feel good the Dems will take anyone they can get. Any cost projections on what this will costs us and our energy costs from it ? I would think you that are for this should take that into consideration .

Dominion owns a plant directly across the sound from them? It's probably closer than Shoreham. I guess Connecticut told them to get screwed. Let em take cold showers in the dark.

I'd rather live in the shadow of a nuke than have a coal plant 50 miles away Or an unsightly windmill farm or solar panel eyesore. I'm not opposed to either. But solar is my least favorite way to make electricity for numerous reasons. But it's still gonna be in the mix. I'm just glad I don't work on a wind farm. I'm too fat for that shit.

Not to mention the elevated cancer risks. From what? Trumpers believe that windmills cause cancer because Trump has told them so.
