I know that, this is the land in Osceola County , the Mormons and their developer Tavistock have refused to talk about any conservation land. I knew about the splitoak road deal, but the development is a smack in the face to Fl something about owning the land... You and i want a shed out back, they build 3 highways and let the small time developers fight over that's left.

if your so upset do something about it, when the first machines show up go out there in the middle of the night and put half a gallon of bleach in each gas tank. dont worry bout the security guard they hire for 16 bucks a hour at 2am he will be sound asleep in his car. wear a hoodie and latex gloves. while they are figuring out went wrong you need to be looking for a cheap night vision scope and a 22 hornet then when replacement vehicles show up you can put 1 round in as many sidewalls as you can from 200 yds away. you have 20 inches or more of rubber to hit so you dont have to be chris kyle just dont hit the rim it will sound like a bell being rung. baby bottle rubber nipples pulled over the end of barrel work really good for 1 shot so change the nipple every shot. steel jacks like the ones kids use to play with can be purchased online only the ends are already ground into points and are 1 1/4 long , flat tires for any car or truck except larger truck tires like nittos sometimes are unaffected. on a budget go to granger get a 50 lb box of 1.25 inch roofing nails, spray paint them black if going on a asphalt road for better performance, gravel or dirt natural color works fine but success rates are much lower compared to pavement. good luck and stay safe. disclaimer,,,, this is something i read and have no experience or knowledge of these tips from the past or future.

As usual, lots of misinformation and uninformed supposition going on in here from the regular cast of characters. 🤣 While I trust your word on lots of subjects facts are facts on this , The mormons preach being stewards of the land but will bull doze it all for a buck, Perfect example is when they widen 192 and the ranch sold dirt for it . Bull dozed hundered of gopher turtle dens with indigo snake in them . They have proven time and time again only thing they care about is profit .

If anyone cares to look at the comprehensive use plan for the county they will see that, rather than what has been portrayed here, significant conservation lands actually are included within the development plan in question. FL Audubon and a few other state-wide NGO’s have given the plan good reviews for that and other reasons.
The owners also do have a plan to meet the water demand that will be needed to accommodate the planned growth as well, contrary to what has been claimed here.
I hate to see houses planted in new developments as much as the next guy, especially this one…., because it’s basically in my back yard. But it’s not my land and the sky isn’t falling. You won’t find a better managed ranch in FL, from the grass and their cattle, to the game their hunting lessees enjoy.
The organization that owns the land isn’t the evil greedy monster that some here apparently think it is either. They do a lot of good all over the world. And not just for those of their faith.
It is true that a lot of the road base for the widening of Hwy 192 came from a levy on their land. However it’s not true that the owners bulldozed any tortoises. The fill was sold in place to a local contractor who dug and hauled it (he was actually one of their hunting lease members at the time). While I don’t know what permits were pulled by the contractor for their project, I do know that they were contractually responsible for obtaining whatever permits were required for the work they were doing.

Agree. Not any more perfect than some others, but pretty fine people.
They were penalized not because they didn’t report. But rather because they didn’t aggregate the reports into a single filing.
They didn’t hide anything from the government. They were just hiding it from people like yourself who like to mischaracterize things as being something other than what they are, in an effort to avoid the needless drama that comes with them.
I can’t fault them for that.
