To Beat the Crap out of people..? I've never had a Bad experience with a Cop..and I've been arrested several times before. Yup , Her's my ID , Here's my Insurance , Yes sir..No problem. It ain't that hard. I see folks all the time rolling up their window and ignoring Cops or yelling and fighting them. You don't fight cops on the street you fight them in Court. Now Cops ain't always right I agree but some folks need to get yanked out of their car and have their face meet a Bumper...Several times.

Yeah I've had to deal with hot head cops on power trips. If they'll treat a clean cut white guy who was nothing less than polite to them that way I damn well know what goes on on the other side of town. You are right though you fight them in court. Although not everybody can afford to. And some don't live to get to. After a couple of my experiences I can promise you there won't be another yes sir no sir calm down sir. If they are going to beat my ass they are going to earn their money that night

I have never had a bad experience with the police. I have seen them take a whole lot of crap from people and maintain a very good level of professionalism.
I suppose that there may be some bad police just like there are bad people in every profession. I have never back talked a police officer and I was raised to say yes sir and no sir to everyone that I speak to so that may have something to do with it.

No, they should not. That said, I've never had an issue with any policeman.
I probably had over 3K in traffic fines from the time I was 16 till 23 or so. Never an issue.

It seems like they want to tackle anyone deemed a flight or fight risk. Drugs and alcohol probably contribute to this as well. Watch the TV shows and they always tackling folks. See the body cam footage and they are usually punching too. Being nice, polite and relaxed usually results in a nice polite and relaxed policeman too.

I've had a few not so pleasant experiences with law enforcement and some good as well. I don't trust them and I stay the fuck away from them. I won't go out of my way to piss them off but I treat them how they treat me. My overall experience with them over the last 5-10 years has been pretty good. Times are different for sure.

I have had zero bad experiences with law enforcement. I am also very close friends with several. I watch a lot police interaction vids on youtube. Some of them have the patience of a saint. I damn sure wouldnt have drug shit out that long before being confrontational.

I can't say I've ever had a "bad" experience with the police. Just curious what took place for those that did.

Just like everything there is good and bad. The Game Warden who helped drag a Deer out = good. The officer who was arrested for planting drugs on suspects = bad. I just try not to give them a reason to interact with me.

I’ve been pulled over for mistaken identity with the car being searched and the cops thought that they had the right person and were somewhat assholes but when I acted decent to them they lightened up a bit. Once they realized they had the wrong person they kind of apologized but not as much as I expected. Having said that I still support most law-enforcement officers.

I have never been pulled over without cause. Most of the times I was let go without a ticket that I deserved. I am always respectful when pulled over.

There have been times though where a normal interaction with fwc turned into what I deemed harassment and spoke up in a rather firm way about it. They have always realized their error and let me go. I did however have one particular, pain in the ass officer removed from my area by going to the top brass over his special brand of BS, but that was about 25 years ago.

I had one who was particularly assholey and really killed my enthusiasm to deal with them in any way, shape or form. They can be pricks and we have to sit back and take it or get them excited and deal with more shit. Best thing to do is avoid the areas they hang out and things work out pretty well. Yes, even if 75% of them are decent human beings, the 25% shitheads I've dealt with keep me away. We've all got stories.

Pulled over twice for the wrong reason, at least in my opinion.
The first was when I was 17 or 18, I cut through a gas station parking lot to get ahead of my boss who was in front of me in his car. I did go through the parking lot kind of fast, but the place was closed at 11 pm. The cop comes blasting up behind me, orders me out of the car, handcuffs me, and starts looking in my windows with his flashlight. My boos and 4 other cop cars show up at this time. My boss and one of the other cops start laughing and the other cop tells the guy who has me to take off the damn handcuffs and let me go. Turns out the station parking lot I drove through had the alarm go off just before I took the shortcut and the cop thought I broke into the place and was running away. But he was nice even though he handcuffed me and I couldn't blame him considering the circumstances.
The second time the cop really pissed me off and I reported him to his supervisor. I was on I-75 in the middle lane and passing a guy in the right lane. I was still behind the guy by about 2 car lengths when a Deputy came racing up behind the guy, planning on pulling in front of me. I didn't notice the deputy and he didn't have lights on. At the last second, the deputy realized I wasn't slowing down to let him in and he had to slam on his brakes. I saw him skid to avoid hitting the guy in the right lane. Well, that pissed him off and he pulled me over. He then ordered me out of my car over his intercom and instructed me to the front of his car. This pissed me off. I politely asked him what the fuck was his problem and he made up some bullshit that I was speeding and tailgating. I told him I wasn't the one who almost hit a car which seemed to upset him more. He ended up letting mew go with a "warning". I called the department and spoke to the Sheriff. She had his boss call me back a few hours later after I calmed down. His boss said he reviewed the video and was sorry about how the deputy acted. I asked if he saw the incident leading to it and how he almost hit another car. He said he did not but would review it as well. He said he would speak to the officer and asked if I wanted to file an official complaint. I said no, just wanted to let him know he needed to have a conversation with the guy.
Every other time I got pulled over was because I did something stupid. 80% of the time I did not get a ticket because I was polite and admitted I was an idiot.

I've learned to just keep my mouth shut and only answer questions regarding license, registration, and insurance. If he's going to give me a ticket he will. If he's going to lecture me I let him speak his piece, sign the summons, and then go on my way. I always go to court. Don't always win, but occasionally do. Now, the young FWC officers in Miami......that's another story. In the Keys they're usually much more laid back.

Forgot the OPs question, while cops should not be allowed to beat anyone, some need a good ass kicking.

Back when cops carried and used Billy clubs and those two handled night sticks there wasn’t a whole lot of back talking, fighting and being a general nuisance. A blow to the elbow or knee cap usually ended any kind of stupidity. 🫣
