Never heard of the twister either. There is still a 70 cobra in Mitchell co. as far as I know.

Running. I rebuilt the 429 years ago for the original owner. It is with owner #2 which bought it from the family of original.

That family is sitting on a pile of money. Especially if you used the numbers matching block.

I remember going to the James Dean rod run with dad taking a '50 merc lead sled.
At the show which was like a good guy's or similar type show, (only meaning it was not a NSRA show limited to pre '49) There was a mercury that I found interesting.
A '68 or '69 cyclone I'd never seen one before, or since. I don't remember what engine it had whether 427,428,or 429..
So seeing the torino twister in this thread, was another I didn't know existed either.. Kind of cool..
Thanks for the education.

I remember seeing the occasional Cyclone in the late 60s and early 70s. They were like a fancy Gran Torino, like comparing a Mustang to a Cougar.
I do not remember the Twister. Evidently they were mostly in the midwest.

That orange Shelby is going to be high dollar. 1 of only 2 built and the only one in the US. The other one was shipped to England.
My dad bought a 68 Torino fastback. Maroon with white interior it was $3,800 new.
I know where one is just like it in Worth Co. He wouldn't even talk about selling it.

Ah the nostalgia and good memories of some loves bought and sold, and some now missed.

I never was a Ford guy but that black and white 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria is one good looking car.
I've always had a soft spot for a 1962 Pontiac too. While I'm not a convertible fan, that Bonneville Convertible is sharp.

You look at the engine compartment of those mid 50s cars and see that itty bitty master cylinder and wonder how in the hell did we get those cars stopped running at 90 -100 mph?

I had a '56 Fairlane 4 door blue and white
put a 352 Police Interceptor motor in it
got 5 MPG when I put my foot in it ... which was every time I drove it
my brother stole it and wrecked it ... turned out to be a habit with him ... and as usual Dad reimbursed me
when I bought a new car my senior year of high school Dad told him if he stole this one he would be the one working to repay me ... he didn't steal that one but he did steal and wreck one more car from me ... a '72 MGB
