I had ongoing problems with IBS for years, sometimes liquid, sometimes plugged solid...and getting rid of that was...unpleasant, but I did figure out a way.
About 6 months ago, a friend who'd had a family member with similar problems recommended Metamucil to me and told me to be patient - takes time for your system to adapt to it. I take a heaping tablespoonful with OJ every morning.
He was right. Took over a month to stabilize, but now the morning dump is a breeze - and what a pleasure. I still approach the deed with uneasiness, but a few seconds later when done, I grin with relief...and what a relief.

I'm going to tell my wife about your plan gogetum. She's tried metamucil but never took it long enough to work.

Yes. Took about 10 days to start working for me. 10 very unpleasant days. 👎

I eat mostly veggies and fruits. Some fish. No red meats. Very little bread. Now I know I'm old. I'm gonna brag about my bowel movements instead of my sex life. Every morning like clockwork. Drink a cup of coffee then sit on the throne and relax. That's when I proclaim "The Eagle Has Landed!"

Very little red meat here. Mostly chicken, pork, and seafood. A lot of fruit, less veggies. Mostly everything in moderation.
Very little bread. Gotta have that cup of coffee in the AM. But only one.

Love your diet. I basically live what you said. My weight at 17 on the wrestling team was 135. I weigh exactly 135 today.

First rule....no carbs. No carbs. No bread, no pasta, no potatoes. No carbs. Ever. There are other ways to eat and be happy. I will be pleased to help, if you ask. I also run/walk 10 miles a day. Truth be told, I smoke a pack a day. Metabolism plays a big part. If your metabolism is slow, then you have to work twice as hard. Core discipline is primary. No sugars. No carbs. You know I love you. I'm here to help.

I used to run 3 miles every morning and 3 miles every night. Motorcycle accident on Lake Shore Drive took away a knee and my running days were over. That started my backslide

That started my backslide I'm so sorry that happened to you. Sincerely. Doesn't change the diet recommendations I offered. No carbs. No carbs. No rice either. No carbs. Easy example, you wake up hungry. Fine. Eat a dozens eggs. Fried. Eggs are protein not carbs. But no toast or hash browns. Sausage or meat with it is fine. No carbs.

what's works for one person is not necessarily good for another
I'm 5'5" 140 lbs and 20% body fat.

You have to have some carbs, there are good carbs. I'm a Type II and go by net carbs, but ya still need them.
