Happy Easter!
I have a question.
Do your kids get gifts like they do for Christmas? I understand that is becoming more normal. When I grew up you got a little basket with candy in it that you used to hunt eggs with. There wasn't any gift-giving. Sometimes it was last year's basket with new candy inside. My mom reused everything as much as possible.
Some families would buy the kids new clothes for church and Easter Services, but that was their once-a-year purchase of dress clothes. Besides the big Easter dinner, the candy was the big deal for Easter.

That was 1 of the 2 times we got new clothes. The other was back to school.

Yep, that's the way it was for me in the 50s-60's I actually have a pic on my office wall of myself, brother and sister all dressed up in our Easter finest (including hats and bow ties) in front of the Immaculate Conception Church in Philly circa 1961 or so.

One for the kids and another for the adults that turn full contact at times. Mostly after my BILs have gotten into the "daddy juice"

Besides the big Easter dinner, the candy was the big deal for Easter. My wife and I had this discussion this morning after getting pictures of some of the Grandkids baskets. It's turned into Christmas almost. I told my wife, "I guess I'm just a grouchy set in my ways old man but that's just too much". "It's our fault though". We raised their Mama's and Daddy's. I was just like you Cad. Just a little candy and we did get the new "Sunday" clothes on Easter. What we did though was spend the whole day with relatives, Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts having lunch and dinner. We lived on an egg farm so there was some work to do but we did as little as possible to get by and just caught up the next week.

Have a blessed day. Easter is a day for family and when the day dies down I find it peaceful to sit and reflect on life. Just my 2 cents
