They can be in a lot more places at once than their LE staff can. Thats for sure. Most hunters are law abiding.

The AR's are far more effective than FWC presence yes,,,, and with the self check in and out on the app on your phone theres really no use for them anymore.

Last time I was checked by an FWC officer I was filming turkeys an a conservation area where no hunting was allowed, only passive activities.
They (two of them) snuck up on me and scared the crap out of me and the turkeys I was filming.
We talked for awhile and exchanged contact info.
Some tree hugger saw me getting out of my truck in camo and “guns” , which was my tripod and camera gear.
They thought they’d caught a poacher…lol!
That was like 10 years ago and I only see them now at the check stations or on the highway.

I am on WMAs 52 weeks a year. I run into FWC Officers as well as biologists, biology techs etc. rather frequently...
I would guess close for 40 percent of the time....
As far as getting checked.... Maybe once a year..... I wave and speak to them. I have a few of officers cell number in my phone
