My prayers to all that are in that final quarter with their spouse.
Ruthie is convinced that I will outlive her, with her historic battle with pancreatic cancer and now heart problems. Time will tell, we take it one day at a time now, try to find the good in everything.

I'm pretty certain that my wife will outlive me. That's the way I want it.
She has a lot of friends who are widows and will help her through the grief.
I'm not a socializer so I don't have a support system. I can't imagine I'd live long anyway if she went first.

That's usually the way it goes. If one spouse goes the other one goes within a year. Not all the time but a good bit of them.

My wife is a cancer survivor. I too have gone through the anxiety and anguish that comes with such uncertainty. Still having two younger ones at home and getting this kind of news was a earth stopping moment for me. I couldn't imagine pressing forward without her and I gratefully pray every day for her continued well being. Prayers for all of you out there with ailing wives and life partners. None of us really know how good we have it, until we don't. Thanks, OMG. Just learned this week that I’ve begun this same journey myself, unfortunately. Hope to come out the other side with my wife in as good a shape as yours thankfully seems to have. |

My wife's sister who had the colon cancer passed yesterday. She lived to be 70 despite being schizophrenic and bipolar.

I just keep praying for mine.
There is not a lot I can do and it pisses me off to no end.
One time I go visit and she seems to be good and willing to eat and drink fluids, and the next thing i know it's downhill.
This shit is wearing me out.
Good thing is that she is tough as nails and will hopefully get thru this.
