Where's all that unyielding respect for the officers of the court in relation to the appearance of impropriety when it comes to Justices of the Supreme Court? A ruling contrary to your preference is not "the appearance of impropriety".

Appearance of impropriety? Clarence Thomas took decades of bribes from a billionaire Alito takes luxury trips funded by billionaires and religious orgs Gorsuch sold his million-dollar property to a lawyer with cases before him Really? Prove it. Prove the bribes. Does justice Thomas have a crackhead son who got appointed to said billionaire's board? Do you have the receipts for millions of dollars going to the crackhead son? Did the imaginary crackhead also evade income tax of over a million dollars? Cuz that sort of thing would certainly require the removal of the corrupt individual who's crackhead son was shown to have received so much from the billionaire.

Bullfrog, Since your first post in this thread you seem convinced that Fani perjured herself. Would you please point out precisely where she did so as I don't see proof of that nor do I see the Judge asserting it to the best of my knowledge (I've not caught up on the hearing or read today's judgement yet)? Curiously yours and appreciative of your sharing your perspective.... That hers and Wade’s relationship didn’t begin until after she hired him. I believe the judge found that there was insufficient proof to find that it started earlier, yet you are convinced she perjured herself and have been for quite some time now. How can you be so sure?

I had 200k views on one thread. Two hundred thousand. So for the people in my world, I am very proud of what I did. Cussing and insulting the opposition did not serve me well, no doubt. I made a lot of friends there. Mike and I argued for weeks on end, and I count him as a close friend today. I have another friend from that experience who is one of my closest friends today, we practically grew up together and didn't know it. I even got you, who I count as a friend. MI casa, su casa. But you are 100% correct.

After they closed politics, Gary was on OT being his usual self and he got into a "discussion" with an administrator late one night. I actually saw several of the posts. The next day the posts were gone and Gary never posted again that I saw. I don't know what happened, but do know Gary disappeared after that.

The quality of Mr. Wade's work was lost in the flatulent fog surrounding this recent sideshow.
He was billing rate was $200 per hour.
For more than a year, he argued the Trump RICO issues before state and federal courts and never lost!
In some cases, like Mark Meadows, he was up against attorney's billing $1,600 per hour.
He kicked their butt ... over and over. The county got their money's worth.
The prosecution will be hard pressed to replace him.
But, then again, the top dog is guilty as hell, as heard on tape, and many of his minions have already pled guilty.
RICO is a complicated charge, but the state is holding all the cards.
Stay tuned.

I've been a bit busy, but have been catching up. Here is what the judge said about the start of the relationship: "[N]either side was able to conclusively establish by a preponderance of the evidence when the relationship evolved into a romantic one."
and also: "[R]easonable questions about whether the District Attorney and her hand-selected lead SADA [special assistant district attorney] testified untruthfully about the timing of their relationship further underpin the finding of an appearance of impropriety and the need to make proportional efforts to cure it." To wit, it is one thing to think someone may have perjured themselves. It's quite another to state it as fact. After all, and as I think someone around here may have mentioned words to the effect: The only currency prosecutors have is the truth.

Funny RICO has been mentioned it this thread.
Would the mention of RICO mean the coordinated effort across multiple state lines to commit law-fare against a former president and current political front runner in the attempt to commit Federal election interference?
Ahh, yes. Someone, some persons are going to find their conspiracy uncovered and realize, too late, that they are in deep shit.
Just wait until these conspirators start flipping on each other.

I tried to read the judge's decision. I did skim over a few pieces of it, but I think he made the right decision. I did notice he pointed out that Wade was not her first choice and he also said the $250 per hour in his contract was low for attorneys in the area. He also pointed out that Wade never exceeded the contract billable hours. I think several members thought he was overpaid. The judge did not think so. He also pointed out that Willis had considerable financial means of her own and it was not apparent she used this trial to enrich herself.
I was not 100% clear what the issue was Trump's lawyers were claiming, but it appears they claimed she only did this to make money off hiring Wade and not for any other reason. That it was a plot to make money off prosecuting Trump. That was a losing argument from the start. She wants Trump in jail that much is clear. She ain't in this for money, but rather publicity as the one who got Trump. I think their argument that her actions when making public statements about the trial could taint the jury pool might make a better argument.
How bad this hurts her later on at trial, I do not know. The jury will be told to ignore this, but will they? I think the evidence is pretty strong against Trump, but Willis is an amateur compared to the federal prosecutors after Trump. She could still screw this up.

Dream on. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid. You'll choke on it soon enough. There is no law, no crime, state or federal, called "election interference". In Georgia, Trump attorneys have pled "guilty" over and over. What does that tell you? They were caught red-handed, and flipping was the only option. ( M.A.G.A. is short for "Making Attorneys Get Attorneys". ) Think for a moment ... If the "conspirators" floating in your head actually existed, where are the indictments? How or why could they, or should they, contemplate flipping? On who? For what crime? Many state governments are totally controlled by Republicans. If there's some grand interstate conspiracy, Where Are The Indictments? Can you name a state Republican prosecutor who's even announced an investigation? I hope you enjoy your vacation on "Trump Airlines", and a delicious "Trump Steak" dinner.

That $150 donation when he work for Trump's DOJ is not an issue. He wasn't even a judge in 2020 when he made the "huge" donation. You didn't even mention he worked under Trump during his career. One of his first jobs after graduating law school was to work in Fulton County DA's office which was led by Fanni Willis. Not an issue. The man's a conservative. He was appointed by Kemp. The Trump case was randomly assigned to his court. There is no conflict at all, these crazy claims have already been dismissed by legal scholars. Trump's lawyers aren't even addressing it since it is so trivial.

I believe the judge found that there was insufficient proof to find that it started earlier, yet you are convinced she perjured herself and have been for quite some time now. How can you be so sure? I've been a bit busy, but have been catching up. To wit, it is one thing to think someone may have perjured themselves. It's quite another to state it as fact. After all, and as I think someone around here may have mentioned words to the effect: The only currency prosecutors have is the truth. I know how to spot a lie on the stand. The situation isn’t finished. I expect that as the weeks go by, more attorneys with direct knowledge of the relationship between Wade and Willis will step forward. One one hand, a percentage of them will be angry that Wade and Willis lied to the court. On the other, some will smell Willis’ blood in the water. Either way, I expect the evidence will engulf her that she lied. The judge suspects it or else he wouldn’t have invited other agencies to look into her conduct in his written opinion.

She is toast.
If she had any brains at all she would resign from the case and lay low until this is forgotten then try to resurrect her career.
Unfortunately she showcased a huge “Trump Like” ego while on the stand. I believe that ego may overpower the ability to back off and shut up.
