I reached out to the managing party, Wayne Morrow, of Dip N' Vat Hunt Club in Dixie back in May. They have 14,000 Acres and 90 members @ $1300 a year. May be an option for some of yall. floridahunt.club/informationI remember when that club started. It use to be Perpetual WMA. We hunted in California Swamp on the other side of the main grade.

only lease i was a actual member was in florence south carolina for 14 years, landowner died, non hunting son got property and a year later we were gone. big bucks and all the doe s you could shoot.tons of turkeys. 8 guys 2800 acres. now here in florida i have been a guest on 4 leases , 2 of them banned me after the first couple weeks of turkey season since guys who brought me and myself limited out too quick. another lease in labelle i shot a big 10 that all the members had been after for 2 years on first day ever being there, they put me in the worst spot they could think of, middle of a 500 acre 2 inch tall grass cattle filled field with not one tree. i walked out to middle of the field in the dark,400 yds from the camp,.sat down on a fold out chair in 6 inches of water, 7 am i see the deer running full speed across the field i stand up and he stops 50 yds broadside from me, cva muzzleloader dropped him in his tracks. never got another invite from that place either. i hunt a little too much and for what you pay for 1 buck and maybe 2 doe and im too cheap too pay that much money. but will go with any of you as your guest if you want.

We just lost our Florence, SC land. Free hunting for about 15 years. One thousand acres and only 3 of us hunting it with our guests. A buddy's family owned it since the John C Calhoun days, but finally sold it to the county last year and they had it mowed down and paved in less than 12 months from the closing.
My son killed his first deer there, and many since. His and my asses both hurt over losing that little gem but we were really fortunate to have access to it while we did.
I've been looking, but I need the right fit. I don't want drama or hard feelings when me or my kid kills a bigger, or more deer than the prezzident like what happened to Meat. Also don't want a bunch of punks, nitwit, or other undesirables doing dumb shit. Got a few irons in the fire but it's not looking promising.

Unfortunately you are correct, 99 percent of the clubs don't want a "good hunter" as a member. I guess they are intimidated by them. I prefer to hunt with other hunters that are equal or preferably better than myself. Hopefully I can learn something from them.

I was on a lease in SC for a couple years. Some of the best hunting I've ever had. We wouldn't hunt there as much the locals but we always killed deer. We would look at the sign in book to see where everyone else had been hunting before our arrival. We would hunt the stands nobody had hunted and kill deer. As soon as we'd leave they'd hunt the stands we had killed deer from that weekend. There were several of them that had egos and acted like dicks. The following year they scrapped the log in book and went with a pin in board. They weren't very happy when they'd been hunting for a month and a half before we finally made it up only for me to kill the biggest buck at the point during my first afternoon hunt. They were a odd bunch to say the least but I didn't enjoy hunting with them and didn't rejoin for a 3rd season.

My Lease has about 400 Members...3/4 of them Dog hunters. I'd rather have them then a bunch of Still hunters.. They don't hang stands , they don't walk into the woods, no flagging tape and they never claim the best spots. They just hit and run..all voer the Club. It's kinda nice when it hits 10 am and you haven't seen shit..and Ole Blue lights up a block away and he's running them your way. Late Season bucks hiding away..? Not when Little Sally the July hound finds them.

guy i know just killed a really nice 9 point yesterday, tuesday afternoon bout 4pm. in corbett, in the still hunt area which has been hunted hard the last couple months. treestands and cameras everywhere, went out looking for a hog, jumped the big buck instead 40 yd shot with a 12 gauge 00buck. this deer has evaded hundreds of hunters for months and gets whacked by a guy looking for a hog. i wonder how many guys got this buck on camera. late season on a no quota wma, i need some of that luck.
