What's your Favorite..? I have 2 , API Grand Slam and a Summit Goliath. Both are really nice and comfortable. The Cable system on the summit is real nice because you can see the Insertion points and slide the cable right in. The API uses a chain with links.. You have to hit the opening between the links to put the pins in. No big deal there but I just like the cable system better. The summit is like I said ..The Goliath so it's real big. I most likely would go to the next size model down if I buy another one.6 ft. 225 here. I'm not sitting in a POS small stand for hours. The 25 pound hauling weight is worth it. What's your Go to Climber..

A goliath, a viper, and a old Hunters View I bought in Alabama 30 years ago. I have used most of the mainstream climbers at some point but my vote goes to the Summit climbers every time. Very comfortable, quiet, easy set up, and safe.
Some side advice for the guys who may not know: Get a third hand stabilizer strap for your 2 piece climbers. That thing WORKS GREAT for additional security. Wear a harness.

What OMG said!.👌 I’ve tried many and only still have my summits. I like the bigger ones for long sits. Along with the stabilizer straps omg recommended, try the footrest third hand archery sells, it ables you to stretch your legs while being seated, and doubles as a deer drag if necessary.

I've been using a Treewalker for the last 10 yrs and had a Summit before that. I like the Treewalker a little better, it's 2 or 3 inches longer than the Summit and will go on a smaller tree. The downside of it is that it tears the crap out of the tree. You don't want to use a pine tree but once. It works great on hardwoods though. And yes the 3rd Hand stabilizer straps that OMG mentioned are great.

Foot rests definitely make a long sit more comfortable.

I have the API Grand Slam and Summit Goliath also.... I sleep the best in API.... I can't climb trees any more, I hunt from the ground or road hunt.
I've been toying with the idea of using the upper part of the climber as a ground seat....it's hard to sleep sitting on a bucket...

The 3rd hand straps serve as a tether to hold the top and bottom together as you climb. Once you get to your hunting height and have your seat situated where you want it, you cinch the straps down and it locks the top and bottom in place rock-solid. They also are handy when packing your climber up by strapping everything together.

I started with a Baker climber, (death trap) went through a couple of APIs and Summits. Still got an API in the barn. Got too old to climb trees anymore. These days I use a blind or a box with stairs.

Summit Viper with a footrest. If you have to carry it a ways, I recommend the Molle shoulder straps. If carrying a really long ways then the Molle hip belt will help transfer the weight from shoulders to your hips.
Similar to altuck, my first climber was a homemade Baker stand. I agree that thing was a death trap....

Seems like a lot of us spend some considerable time snoozing in these things! Comfort is key when it comes to a nap.

Summit Viper and an unknown that I refurbed. Same basic design as the summit but slightly different in the cables, seat, and stirrups.

I have the XOP ambush. I bought it because it folds flat for storage and packing in and out of the woods, plus it has that folding shooting rail that I can fold out of the way for bow season. Honestly I wish I would have just bought a summit though. It doesn’t fold completely flat, and the tree straps are a lot more work to manipulate than on the summits. It’s narrow to the point I’m on the cusp of squeezing the boys all day, the seat has virtually no cushion to it at all. I might try to finagle a summit seat on it at some point but dimension wise it’s narrower.

Hazmore makes a minimalist mesh seat for the XOP Ambush. I have tried them in Summit and API stands and found them to be more comfortable than the factory seats. They are certainly lighter and less bulky. The other thing the Hazmore seat does is that when you stand it slides to the rear so that you have use of all of the bottom platform.

I'd bet rain water will not soak the seat either. I sometimes carry a plastic garbage bag if I'm leaving my climber out for a couple days in case it rains on it...but sometimes I forget and go back to a wet seat. That Sucks. Might have to check that mesh seat out...Thanks

I’ve had a Hazemore on my small summit climber for many years. I use it for longer hikes in and shorter sits. It’s lighter, doesn’t hold water or scent much , but for longer sits I prefer the summit padded seat. You have to keep the Hazemore seat level or slightly down in the front or the strap will dig into the back of your thighs. I highly recommend the third hand archery stabilizer straps and footrest on the summit stands…👌
