Yes and no. I don't believe in jinxes or luck. And yet, I just found myself being superstitious. When I have big buck narrowed down, I get very secretive right before I hunt him. As if talking about him will either spook the buck or tip off a poacher that will instantly descend on my spot the night before. So I'm going to break that superstition. I'm hunting this one in the morning. This will be my first sit of the season. Hope you get him. If you don't he still looks fairly young and definitely will be bigger in the next couple years. Great buck regardless.

Great buck regardless. My take on him is that he’s middle of the road in age. Its just the genetics of my area that they’re all small bodied and slender, even when mature. The smallest bodied deer I’ve ever hunted actually. Seems to be unique to the several thousand acre around around my place. Probably truer to what Florida deer used to be before lots of northern deer were bred into the gene pool. My soil here is terrible.
