One of my very favorite cinema moments goes straight to this topic. Back in 2006, the Academy Award for documentary film went to Al Gore. His "Inconvenient Truth" was indeed a fine documentary on a serious topic. However, another nominee for the prize that year was also great. It was called "Jesus Camp", and followed home-school kids sent away for the Summer. One scene unfolded in the family kitchen of a young guy who was headed off to camp. His mother was giving instruction, explaining that the Earth was only 10,000 years old. She stands there, with her stove, microwave, and dishwasher close at hand. With a sneer in her voice, the spouts this world-class one-liner: "Scientists, ... What do they know?" Laughed so hard I almost spit up my popcorn.

My brother is a scientist, a top one in DC. He is the most arrogant, issue ridden, ignorant to life PRICK that I have ever known. Sorry to derail gandy but I liked that one.

Milk shot right out of my nose on that one.
